Agree. Just a tad bit more consistency from the hitters, especially w/RISP and we'll have a good shot at the playoffs.
Bravos win 3-1. Some timely hitting in the 2nd inning and, once again, some very stout pitching. Freid goes a strong 7, giving up only an unearned run. Iglesias with his 31st save of the season.
Just need the Mets to go on a losing streak now.
Certainly winning games differently this year. Margins are a lot tighter.
Just gotta get in one way or another. They say in Spring hope springs eternal. Well that is true in the playoffs as well. Once you are in you have a chance. With a few breaks maybe you make it further than thought.
GO BRAVES!!!
Another wasted pitching gem by Charlie Morton. Only gave up one run. Unfortunately the Bravos bats were AWOL. Only 2 hits all game, all by Matt Olson. Not sure what the deal is with their hitting but it's going to be their downfall if it doesn't change directions immediately.
Embarrassing effort from the Braves. I think Kirby’s dawgs could have beaten them tonight. Kirby would have found a way.
Bats decimated by injuries, missing Acuna, Riley, Albies & now Merrifield. Kind of says it all right there.
Murphy did set the record for the farthest travelled broken bat last night. 275 ft or so with statcast 😂
Now Lopez is on the 15 day IL. We just can't catch a break with these injuries. unreal.
Kind of amazing, isn't it. Not sure I've ever seen anything quite like it since I became a Braves fan in '82. The incidence in all sports seems to have skyrocketed, or else I am paying closer attention now. I've often heard about advances in sports medicine and increased injury rate mentioned together quite often over the last decade or two. Not sure what to make of it, if anything. At any rate, my fingers are crossed for the Bravos. 2-3 weeks left in the season. Every game is HUGE from now on.
Yep, 17 more to go counting today……

That was a helluva year to become a fan. Didn't they win 13 in a row to start the year that season?
Not sure exactly when that win streak was, but I recall it. I also recall being able to buy bleacher seats and walk down to the box seats in the 2nd or 3rd inning. Ushers really didn't care. I also used to take student groups to work concessions in the stands - saw 81 home games one year plus the WS - all free. Them was the days!!
Yes that was the year!
I was in law school at the time and my dad and I would call long distance every night after each game of that streak….somewhere in the archives there is a picture of my dad holding up a "13-0" sign….. what a great memory!
My dad was a huge Braves fan and raised me the same way. Started going to the games when they came over in '66 when he could bring in the whole family for $2.50!! They had general admission bench seats in the outfield back then…..what a treat that was!
My favorite player to this day was Rico "the Beeg Boy" Carty who won the batting title in '70, I believe!
Go Braves!
Who was the outfielder that I believe after warming up between innings that would throw the ball into stands behind home plate occasionally.
Am I mistaken, did I dream it, imagine it. Mack Jones?
