I agree, the gameplan was great. Bobo called a very good game. That Texas defense had no idea what was happening. The only thing stopping us was mistakes. Score should have been a lot more lopsided than it was. For once, run blocking and pass blocking was superb.
i disagree the offensive game plan worked. First half they could not stop our run. Why we didn’t keep running it down their throats in the first half and make them quit I’ll never know. We could’ve gotten an even bigger lead and made them more one dimensional on offense.
What we miss most about Monken is how he would relentlessly attack a weakness in the teams defense. Bobo seems like he’s trying to get all his cute plays in.
Becks got to play better and wr have to play better. If we do that this O is unstoppable. We spent all off season knowing this team would be a pass first team. 5th year senior and potential number 1 draft pick with ra Ra, bell, smith, colbie, Lovett, humphreys, delp, luckie, Evans, and pass catching rbs. We were going to carve teams up. We were going to be a fast break put it in the hands of our star player team and then pound you with the run as the game went on. This is what we practiced all off season. Then we lost Ra Ra. Then we lost young. The team caught the case of the dropsies that spread throughout. Best 2 Ol got hurt and Star qb turning it over at a pace not seen since Quincy Carter. And this juggernaut of an offense just never took off. Mainly due to the drops and the turnovers. I believe with this off week we will become more of a running team. We get our two best OL back in full strength and 1-2 punch in Etn and Frazier. I believe we will start pounding the ball more and use play action pass even more which is Becks strong suit. And with the d coming in to form this will be a dawgs team that will break you. Unfortunately the pass firat offense just didn’t work for all the reasons mentioned. But undoubtedly it should have but a ton of drops and a ton interceptions derailed it.
Talk about first world problems! We scored 30 points against the number one rated defense in the nation and we are in full blown meltdown mode! 30 points with multiple interceptions thrown and seemingly dozens of dropped passes and let's replace the man that built the offensive game plan? We won the d.amn game and it wasn't as close as the score indicated, Offensive and defensive performance was great, still things to clean up on both sides but to my mind we are getting better across the board and that my friends should scare the heck out of our upcoming opponents!
absolutely!! The scary thing for the rest of the country is We have better in the tank. That was by no means a perfect game and the final score doesn’t do justice if how bad we dominated those guys. 30 yards of offense in first half.
Allow them to walk around with a ball all week.
Actually, I think the problem has become confidence, and that's very hard to fix.
Another problem, at least sometimes, is receivers forgetting the priorities. It is almost always - 99% of the time - more important than anything else to catch the ball. Sometimes, even on television, you can see they are trying to run for yards after the catch, but have forgotten to first make the catch.
If they're a little off on their routes, which they could be, but we can't be sure of it, the ball is going to be much harder to catch as it is going where they should be instead of where they are.
Clearly, sometimes Carson's throws are way off. Sometimes, we can't ascertain who is at fault, but, rest assured, Kirby & Company have the receipts. The film doesn't lie.
I expect the receiving corps is fixing to make a quantum jump which will be like the quantum jump we saw from the defense in Austin. That should blow some minds and imagine the score.

And, honestly, I don't think I have heard an opposing crowd (in an away game for the Dawgs) be as loud as they were Saturday night…..even after the first half lead that we had……and they only got louder in the second half.
You could really hear it coming through the telecast…. and I cannot "really" hear!!!! 😁
To overcome that adversity and win the game outright (even though we were hamstrung by the officiating) says a lot about our teams' "composure and resiliency"………

Seriously, we could have beaten Texas by 40 points if not for the mistakes on offense.

Agree100%, and I think what is emerging is this team's key character trait (resilience under fire), as we discussed last week. Georgia has faced a tough schedule with what were a couple of top 5 teams in their houses, and the #9 team at a neutral site. Most of the other games weren't cupcakes, either. I think that helped us a lot Saturday. Beck and the team are learning to operate in very tough environments. We have three very tough assignments ahead of us after the off week. An improving Gator team (rivalry), Ole Miss at their house, and Tennessee with their season on the line (another rivalry). The Dawgs have to keep that chip on their shoulder and clean up the mistakes. I'm optimistic.
I thought Bobo called a good game. He didn't panic and abandon the plan because of mishaps, and he kept Texas on their heels. The only thing I'd like to see from him is working Frazier and ETN on the field at the same time for 10-15 plays. Both of those guys present big matchup problems and getting the ball to them in the broken to open field will be a tough assignment for the best Ds in CFB. Both have elite elusiveness, and good to great speed. I can think of a number of innovative ideas employing those two players and I'm not a football coach. I'm sure Bobo's staff could do better.
Monken offense had a lot more motion and PA than the Bobo version of the Monken offense……
any update from USA Today about Mike Bobo?
Maybe a retraction?
No. He still needs to go. That game doesn't make up for the rest of the season. Once again, zero points in the 1st quarter on 5 drives and we were down by double digits. The original gameplan did not work. Adjustments were made and we finally started scoring in the 2nd quarter. We deserve a better, more consistent OC. There are too many good ones out there to be stick with this.
I'm not going to complain about it right now because Bobo called a great 3 quarters. But, that 1st quarter was a disaster.
