slow horses -is on season 4. Oldham is genius in it. Probably my fave of the last few years.
the old man - has a new season, watch 15 mins of the first episode of season 1 and you are hooked. Bridges is great.
too much football to watch much else.
Mad Men
Yes! I absolutely want to watch this but can't find it. Where is it?
Some good recommendations here… I'll add
Shogun (Hulu)
Your Honor (Netflix)
I clicked on this thread to recommend "Only Murderers in the Building" :)
It's a bit old, 2014-2017, but I thought "Hand of God" with Ron Perlman, Dana Delaney, Andre Royo, Linda Gray, et.al, was very captivating.
I started to add that I didn’t know where to find it. It is a different pace without the gore and violence (except for lawnmowers) and great time piece. One of the great alltime series endings.
Love Island UK! 😂
I've seen it. Actually, I'm not 100% sure I've seen the latest episodes, but I've seen the earlier episodes more than once.
Not that I'm knocking the series as it goes along because it is good throughout, but the episodes with Claire Foy as the queen are my favorites. The later actresses are good, too, but Claire Foy in that role would be a hard act for anyone to follow.
Assuming it is reasonably accurate from an historical perspective, The Crown rather changed my perspective of what it would be like to have the monarch's job or be part of the royal family.
The Margaret Thatcher episode(s) were very interesting. Billy Graham, too.
Excellent series in my view.
Go, Dawgs!
Funny thing is Elizabeth was the only thing holding that royal system together. Now that she is gone and Charles is King, things are starting to change. He is wildly unpopular. People are openly questioning the necessity of a royal family over there.
Watched the first episode of The Crown and was kind of meh… I'll keep it on the back burner.
Started The Terror. Really liking this. I have a thing for polar exploration stuff, especially the old sailing ship adventures. It's a Ridley Scott production and has a superb cast including a few GoT stars.
Watch The Terror | Netflix
It gets better.
Go, Dawgs!
Blacklist - oldie but still great
Slow Horses
Suits
Breaking Bad
Weeds
Bosch
Justified is great
Yellowstone
The Old Man
Your Honor would make my top 5, maybe top 3, list every day of the week. SO good. I hated that it came to an end but there really was no place for it to go, it was a brutal but natural conclusion.
Strange place to add this and I realize there will be many detractors however….
I saw the new Wicked movie last night and it was phenomenal. I don't care about the political leanings/rantings of any cast members and frankly I was expecting not to like it because I can be a live theater snob and loved the stage version. But this….just wow. Great ensemble cast, the stages and costumes were unreal in detail and richness. If you have kids who like to sing, dance, perform, take them. Side note, I love the original movie, I didn't much care for the Wicked book so I've experienced all versions. This was epic. Last side note, it's long. Running time is 2 hours and 40 minutes and it's only Part 1.
