Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

You know, I used to not agree with these kind of statements over the years, but now I think you have a point.
I've been strongly affiliated with college town communities (e.g., Blacksburg, Durham, Chapel Hill, Miami, Bloomington, etc.) all over the country and NEVER have I seen a local law enforcement function (I actually mean the prosecutorial side, not the police themselves) in a college town so blatantly biased against a local university that essentially feeds much of the town's coffers (in Athens, probably the majority of is somehow UGA-related).
To be clear, I am one of those folks who believes you should throw the book at perpetrators of the kinds of charges leveled here, but this seems over the top for something that appears to be unlikely a crime (serious or otherwise). Who is going to hold this DA's office accountable?
I'd be careful about rendering judgment on the alleged crime based on website articles and Internet hearsay.
Chip Towers put well in breaking the story about the girlfriend recanting: "State and county authorities often are reluctant to withdraw domestic abuse charges because of the complex nature of relational cases and the potential for intimidation and/or reoffending."
You Clark County residents take note!
This is what happens when you elect a woke leftist politician, DA or otherwise! This is also what happens when you do not turn out to vote!
I’d include University / Athens Clarke-County police as over the top aggressive vs. not only UGA athletes but students as well. Otherwise, I think they do a good job.
Somebody (not me of course) should organize a protest / march against the DA in Athens. And Colbie should sue.
“Free Colby"
All the rioters in the summer of love who burned cities down, in the Summer of Love got off, but Colby can't. Something aint right.
