I seriously don’t get this Everrette love fest. Does anyone writing about him ever watch the games? It’s taken 3 years for Everrette to figure out the benefits of turning his head around to locate the ball and make a play on it, instead of flailing his arms around and then falling into the WR for instant PI call. He’s Top 2 worst CB’s I’ve ever seen at Georgia, along with Prince Miller.
he isn’t worse than Juwan Briscoe
Do you go back and watch the games?
do you? Daylen had a good year last year. Juwan Briscoe got benched. You can not like Daylen or think he could be better without manufacturing the hyperbole that he’s one of the worst corners in UGA history.
he also hasn’t had an elite front 7 in front of him. Put this Daylen on those 21/22 teams and he probably looks much better. Hopefully our front 7 will be much improved this year which will help the secondary.
It's not hyperbole and I truly believe he's one of the worst CB's I've ever seen at Georgia… that's remained in a starting role. I don't care about Briscoe because he isn't going to start for UGA in 2025. Oh and yes I've watched every UGA game, in fact I've watched all SEC and major opponent games going back to 2020 at least 5 times. I watch the games during the offseason to analyze certain position groups and I've spent a lot of time focusing on Everrette. Last night during the draft it was either Herby or Saban who talked about how Corners really struggle to locate the ball in recent years. He probably used Everrette as his poster boy for that comment because he cannot get his head around in time to make a play on the ball. I think you're confusing staying in phase with being a good Corner. Everrette is great at staying in phase on outside routes (slants, not so much), but when the ball is in the air the dude has no idea what he's doing. For two years straight he could never get his head on a swivel, hence all the PI calls. He'd literally fall right into the WR, and don't even get me started on his lack of tackling skills. In 2024 he made some plays and seemed to have Texas' number, but he'll have to be WAY more consistent in 2025 and learn to both turn his head around and tackle for me to change my tune on him.
heard all the same complaints about Tyson Campbell
