"The 2025 NFL Draft is just the latest indicator showing individual talent was not the issue with last year’s team."

No doubt there was plenty of talent on the 2024 team, and the 2025 team will be stacked with talent as well. I am convinced there are multiple issues that impacted the success last year:

1- This team is still looking for the kind of on-field leadership that Nakobe Dean provided and then following him was Nolan Smith. For all of the talent on both sides of the ball, they still lacked "that guy" last year.

2- Game planning and play calling is going to have to get to the next level. We saw how much value that added to the program when Todd Monkin was here, and it seems obvious that it's an issue now.

3- Find a way to keep the running backs healthy. There's tremendous value in knowing you can pick up 4+ yards at any time late in the game with a lead when you need to possess the ball. It's demoralizing to the opposition DC to know you can pick up a first down and there's nothing he can do about it.

    GO DAWGS!

"his wall of dead animals". Hunting was fundamental in the formation of the US. It is fundamental to human kind since the beginning of time. It is the longest standing tradition in history. For CR to belittle something as inherent in mankind shows his age, lack of depth thinking and reflects his upbringing in Massachusetts. His lack of understanding and respect for anything that preceded him tells me he is Gen Y without telling me he's Gen Y.

  • this is what you focus on? What a goof…that room looked totally excessive and Connor is trying to add a little humor. Mileage may vary on the efficacy but we all noticed that room.

As I have tutored you on before, I add the depth and insight to the limited takes of the Dawgnation staff writer's postings. Dawgnation writers are primarily homers for fear of upsetting the diehard fans that read these articles. I can say the things that they think but cannot say.

As an example, CR talked about the excessive coverage of the SSanders situation by ESPN. But he did not report or even speculate as to what caused the precipitous drop in the draft. As I recall, early in the draft discussion when SSanders was expected to be Top 5, Deion said (paraphrase) "I know how this works and Shedeur won't be going to any team that we don't think are winners". CR did not report on the potential impact of Deion being his advisor or agent might have on his draft position. Nor did he mention the NFL rumors about the disastrous pre-draft interviews that SSanders allegedly had with NFL decision makers. He just focused on the quantity of the discussion and not the what or why. Two basics from Journalism 101.

In this case CR just showed his lack of maturity, understanding and experience. Again. And so did you. There was nothing "humorous" about what he said. In fact there is nothing humorous about 99.9% of his reporting. Which is in his favor.

    Listen and learn, Grasshopper.

Good point about 2024 team's under-performance. This program is getting elite athletes, apparently preparing them in all the right ways for the long game/NFL, and building an enviable culture. But while the game day performance (W/L) is impressive, execution isn't fully elite and begs the question of whether there's another gear there in terms of game preparation and in-game tactics. Go Dawgs!

Lol. Pretty typical of the depth and insight of your contributions here. I hope Dawgnation isn't paying you for your "contributions" here. You are stealing their money. Maybe I should ask for stipend? I certainly add more thoughtful content than you do.

  • one day I’ll be able to be a white knight of journalism just like you old head. I just hope I can have an extra inflated sense of self importance like you do

I was thinking the same thing. Especially after I read an article about "hit/miss" on HS rankings vs #1 picks. It was insightful relative to MStarks. Stated that he did not receive a 5th star because he played cautiously ("mailed it in"?) his senior year of HS. We saw the same from Starks this past season. Playing to not get hurt. 5* Mondon falling to the 5th rd.? Injuries, overrated or "career decision" football? RWilson seems to be following that path. Expect to see LB JWilliams have a bigger impact than RWilson this season.

3 UGA '24 OL drafted in the 1st 3 rds of the NFL draft. Based on '24 OL performance, that is a disconnect that is hard to quantify.

  • I would think Mr “fill in the gaps” would realize Malakai was playing out of position most of the year so Dan Jackson and KJ Bolden could get on the field. Malakai sacrificed for the good of the team and still got drafted in the first round.

Again, no content or defense. Just insults. How do you keep your job while insulting other people on this forum? Your "rebuttals" are laughable and middle school-ish. No doubt you are not long removed from middle school. By the way Mr. Journalist, statement sentences end in a period. In your head rent free much? Lol.

  • now we are correcting punctuation 😂 you’ve definitely hit a boomer bingo that’s for sure.

Conversing with you is useless because it’s obvious you aren’t open to discussion you just want to bloviate about your opinions. You’re never wrong and everyone else is never right. But I enjoy adding my perspective to the echo chambers that are the DN comment section.

"Wall of dead animals" was a dig and not meant to be funny. To say otherwise is being dishonest.

What was the purpose of even mentioning it. IF CR was an avid hunter he would have said something positive about it. He didn't. It was a term of disgust. If you're not into that I get it. But just don't try to make it out like he was trying to be funny(in a decent way). Just keep it real.
