- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

You never know how these 4 & 5 star QBs will actually pan out in college. It's a crap shoot. We missed our opportunity with Fields, Eason never lived up to his billing, Stafford was a very good QB for us but definitely not elite, and Vandagriff has turned out to be a dud. 4-star Stockton's success or failure has yet to be determined.
Glad to hear that it's not the almighty $$ leading the decision with Jared. He knows he'll make plenty of money in the long run, and it would be wiser to base his decision now more on which team can coach and develop him the best. I'd love to see us get Curtis and actually see it through 'til the end of his college career. A first for the Dawgs…that would be sweet.
The drama is frustrating.
“We were very clear from the beginning that you want to list out things that are important to you,” Webb said. “You want to look at the location, the campus, the coaching staff. You want to look at the brand, the history of the program, the QB development, the quarterback coach, the offensive coordinator, and the system. You want to look at the QBs that have come through their program and made it to the next level. You want to look at the recruiting classes. Look at the room. Are there some older guys in the room that you could learn from?”
Not one word regarding the level of education he will receive. College football is broken, just sign them as athletes and quit pretending they are students.
@CHDawg54...if Congress doesn't pony up and pass a bill(s) that puts enforceable guardrails and accountability - including antitrust language - that moves college football forward then we are ultimately looking at players as employees. Then college football is essentiaIly the NFL. It's that simple. Then your point really drives home.

Are there some older guys in the room that you could learn from?”……yea, yea, yea….if these are the true vectors, The Dawgs win in NO contest…..in my previous post, I made the argument that, IMHO, the TRUE vector concerns itself with "religious environment" present in the two entirely different school locations…..only knowing JC & Family by what has been written about them and the fact he attended and played for a Christian HS…..I stand by my prediction……now comes a new article. Much of it rehash but then there's the "family pic"…….beautiful Mom, Son, and Dad….smilin like one big ole sly fox, wearin a hat proudly displaying a SEC insignia…….yea, yea, yea…it sez some electric company….that smile tells the TRUTH, brothers & sisters…..
I trust what agents say not even as far as I can throw 'em. I really hope he comes. If he doesn't, it certainly won't ruin my day. In today's college football, it's all so transactional and fleeting that it's hard to get super excited about any player in any position, while they're being recruited or even after they get here. Go Dawgs!
Other articles have pointed out that he has become particularly enamored with the offensive coaches at Oregon. He is probably weighing the Bobo factor versus living way up in lefty Oregon.
Ugh. Why did he say the OC word?
As I mentioned…..all I know is what I've read or seen…..the "oc word"?????? Frankly, don't really know what you are alluding to….but guessing it is a word of a disparaging context or derogatory…..as a Christian myself but one with a NAVY vernacular, I'll not cast a stone much less pass judgement.
I’m always fascinated by fellow bloggers who say, “we missed out on Fields”. Please name one game we would have won that we lost if he had stayed in Athens. The answer is “NONE”. Think about it and look at the schedule and results during those years…and we did it with a walk-on and not a 5-star. Go Dawgs!!!
If we still had Monken as the OC, I don't think this thing would be close. The Bobo factor definitely would give most elite offensive players pause.
if we still had Monken he probably wouldn’t be pursuing Curtis possibly.
Sadly, I don't believe all the spin. Nowadays, students are professionals before college and, while there (supposedly...) may have been other colleges willing to pay more, obviously, if a great school offered nothing, they wouldn't even be considered. Welcome to the end of amateur athletics, where the REAL dream is no longer about winning and competing, it's 99% Money First.
College "life" or beautiful campus or great education? So what? These kids will be too busy working to enjoy any of that stuff.
Reality: 1. He will be jaded by the money. 2. his teammates will be jealous. 3. He will leave his chosen college early, either for the transfer portal or the NFL draft. 4. He may be a decent pro quarterback, but the money will have turned him into an unmotivated and arrogant human.
Such is the professional athlete today. NIL (like other things in our society) have ruined athletics.
His dad is wearing a hat for an electric company with the initials SEC not a Southeastern Conference hat.
I wish him and his family the best.
Why not soak it? Who cares if life long college football fans are losing interest?
It’s pro ball now.
He should be just as happy in Oregon as Athens. He’s getting paid.
Good luck to him.
I'm glad to read that there were higher "offers" to him than UGA or Oregon. Makes me feel better about him—-hope these comments are true and aren't just words to paint a better picture of his character. Much better men than me have been led down the path of destruction because of the "love" of money. I've been following recruiting for a long time, it feels more and more like bids on a pig in a poke at the Pendergrass Flea Market. I hope our beloved game of college football is salvageable.
