This team is just destined for hard luck. Today's loss 5-4 to the Phil's no different. 13 hits and five walks good for just four runs. It included two runners caught stealing and a called third strike with the bases loaded to end the game.
Three walks and a hit in the ninth and no runs to show for it. Who does that?
Look up "struggling" in Webster's and you'll see a team photo of the Bravos. To their credit they are hitting well against a good pitching staff and also lead 6-0 in the nightcap. Hope they can hold on for the win. I'm getting a good vibe about the hitting coming around and I think they be OK soon.
8-0 now. Looks like we'll salvage a win in the 3-game series. That's a relief.
Nice but the bullpen is messing with my confidence. Dang.
We are, apparently, officially cursed now. Smith-Shawver looks to be out for the season. A once promising rotation has been decimated. Maybe the offense can carry us? I'm not betting any of the farm on it, though.
Time to bring Elder back up. Oh well, here we go again.
I remember when I thought the 21 team was the start of a run. Never would have guessed four years later being a sub-500 team. Wow!
I hate making excuses but…injuries. Season isn't over just yet.
These Braves are so…perplexing. Saturday's game showed what they could be, Schwellenbach threw a gem and the offense produced 11 hits - a good team effort. The starting pitching has been amongst the best in baseball. The offense, not so much. But…Albies and Harris are showing signs of heating up. Fingers crossed!!
Today 59 games into season the Bravos are closer to last place Marlins than frontrunners by a long shot. Hard to watch a so called offense put up so many scoreless innings. The highlight of the season may be getting over 500 a while back.
Changes needed, start at the top and work down. Long term contracts to what looks like mediocre players seems to be biggest obstacle in turning this team around.
Long time fan, but at 75 years old time to take off the rose colored glasses.
It is difficult to watch them floundering. There are proven players who are performing way below their norm. I know baseball is a game of peaks and valleys, but something is missing. I fear getting a case of whiplash from all these players coming and going. Something is missing.
10 games out of first. 4th place in the east, only 4 ahead of the lowly Marlins. This is tough to watch, no doubt. This team seems to have very little edge/fire. Way too inconsistent from the plate. Do we even know how to play small ball at all? Pitching has been fairly decent, but it's hard to win if you can't score consistently. I have hope that we can turn it around and maybe get a wild card spot, but that may just be wishful thinking. I guess we will see. Is it football season yet???
Freddit Gonzalez back as 3rd base coach, putting him in position to replace Snit? My prediction, only question is before or after all star game?
The fat lady isnt singing yet. But she is warming up.
A lot of talent on the team. Enough where I still think maybe…just maybe. Something sparks a turnaround. But it's just as possible they sleep walk thru the entire season and miss the playoffs.
Letting Freddie Freeman get away is still something that bugs me. Right after you won the World Series. He was the heart and soul of the team. Olson is good and younger but Freddie will be in Cooperstown someday. He is great. Give me great Freddie for less time over good Olson for longer any day.
What is Freeman doing after winning the World Series MVP in heroic fashion last year you might ask?
The answer would be he is hitting .369 and OPS is even better than Ohtani. He is aging pretty well one might say.
Wont ever get over that one.
Agree. He is a HOF guy. But hey, at least we didn't get no-hit tonight.
