I keep seeing a lot of the media doubting the Dawgs. It seems they are going on the assumption that UGA on the field will look like the 2024 team. They will all eat crow at the end of September.

Miss St a probable win? Did Mike not see that team play last season? I’m sure they won’t be much better and like he says in the article, Georgia gets stronger as the season goes. Go Dawgs!

No disrespect meant to my Dawgs, but until they prove otherwise I’m gonna assume they take an L at home against Alabama. They just have our number. Yes, we woke up and made a game of it last year, but we should never have let them get the jump on us like that. I thought we had too much talent and coaching to let that happen but apparently not.

And as Mike pointed out, quarterback play will go a long way in determining the WLOCP, with Lagway potentially a game-changer. Likewise for that game and for the season, my concern is Stockton- will he have the moxie that SBIV had? And Beck made some clutch throws for Georgia; the escape win on the plains with Bowers was made possible by Beck. Will Stockton make those kind of throws? If so, it could be another championship (SEC or natty) season.

I thought Jaxson Dart was the QB at Ole Miss when they beat the DAWGS last year..

Yeah, I don't think that the author of this article has been paying attention to the dumpster fire that's going on over at Auburn right now.

@1SICemDAWGS1 Austin Simmons led the first TD Drive for Ole Miss — looked flawless as the backup coming off bench before Dart returned to action

@David1 Trap game between emotional contests with Fla and texas — and on the road — not a fun road trip for the kids, a team that could be overlooked…. nothing on the road in the SEC is easy. Ask Alabama about its trip to Vandy last year…and this MSU QB is pretty decent

Jordan hare is still a tough place to play and Hugh will dial something up to give our defense fits. Will be Gunner’s second road test ever. Definitely not a gimme regardless of how bad their recruiting is.

I know that it’s talking head prognosticators everywhere preseason slow news season and all but would love to understand the rationale of having OM, Barn and G8r games as 50-50 toss ups and yet, on the road in Tennerrrcee with a QB making his first SEC road game start we’re probable, Griff?

Mike, do you really think Kirby will let that happen, not having his team focused on the bull pups? And why did you have to include the clip of the last time Georgia lost to tenn? You probably covered them then, but you cover Georgia now. Why not include a clip from one of the last beat downs of the vols?

I agree Mike, he did look good in his short appearance against the DAWGS. But leading 1 TD drive a year ago does not lead to future success in my opinion. If he had did it 2 or 3 times against UGA, I'd be impressed, and i'd have a different opinion of Simmons. But, I've seen numerous backup QB's over the years come in and perform well in 1 or 2 drives after the starter leaves the game. That usually lasts until the starting QB is ready to go back in the game. Then the backup is delegated to being a sideline cheerleader again. They are more often than not, a backup QB for a reason..better, and more experienced talent ahead of them on the roster. Simmons may go on to break every passing record at Ole miss, nobody knows at this point. He could also be a total flop, again, nobody knows at this time. 1 TD drive does not define how he will perform in the future though. It may be a good indicator of how he might perform in the future, but it isn't a guarantee that he will be successful. We will all know after a few games if he's the real deal or not.

They are all tough games, but generally speaking; the dawgs do better at Auburn and vice versa:

UGA at Auburn - 20 wins. Auburn - 12 wins at home.

Auburn at Athens - 17 wins. Georgia at home - 18 wins

    yes.

But that doesn’t bring into context how we needed a comeback to win in 2023. They were giving us all we could handle until Beck and Bowers brought us back.

In 2019 they almost came back and won at the end. It was a game until the final moments.

I’m sure everyone still remembers 2017.

And we haven’t even talked about how they beat Bama more than we ever do especially at JH
