Georgia better have two and three deep ready to go on that offensive line. I'm not sold on any of the starters.

Gunner has always been a team-first guy, but also competes to be the best player possible. Therefore, I suspect he intends to be the best QB in the league, as you'd expect of any ambitious elite player. I also expect the team and Gunner to really shine in the toughest CFB league this year, no reason why they can't. Go Dawgs!

Never in a millions years will Gunner be among the leading QB Stat Mavens in the SEC…..He just needs to be….and I believe He will be….the best QB to lead the Dawgs in wins every week….I'm sure Arch, Garrett, DJ, and LaNorris….maybe Diego will rack up personal stats, but stats don't win games…..it takes a skilled leader with elite support from every team member to win…..that's what we have in Gunner.

The team has lacked true leaders the last 2 yrs especially last yr. Let hope Stockton, CJ Allen & a few more guys step up & fill those leadership roles every championship team must have.

Gunner has as much or more experience than an overrated Texas QB. But the shorthorn QB has the best odds to win the heisman, only because of the manning last name, and potential. Its definitely not based on his past production at the QB position..if that were true, manning would be a lot farther down the list of heisman favorites..

One of the best traits that GS brings to the position of starting QB is leadership. Not 'RAH RAH" leadership but leadership by example. Like that run up the middle vs TX in the SECCG last year. That kind of play on the field should rally and inspire the team to bring it with some purpose more often.

That being said, that kind of play (run up the middle vs TX), puts a QB at risk for injury. So some balance and judgement will be needed to minimize the risk. Reminds me of BVG at KY last year. Same win the game on every play attitude as GS. BVG took a beating. So much so he is no longer playing football. It will be interesting to see how GS adapts.

"UGA doesn't need GS to be the best QB in the SEC to win". That depends on a lot of things yet TBD. "Win"? Over .500? Win the SEC? Win the NC?

To "win" (to the UGA standard), UGA needs to see significant improvement from every level of the D and from the OL. UGA needs to see the new WR's not drop the ball. AND UGA needs GS to play somewhere between '23 CBeck and '24 CBeck on the field for the '25 season to be a near lock for the playoffs and contender for the NC.

Statistically, GS completion % and # of INT's will tell the story on the QB position for this season.

Good article Conner. What does it tell you when a player with almost no college playing time is a "Heisman Favourite"? The politics of the game are glaringly apparent. I agree with everyone here—the good play of Stockton is a must have, but his surrounding mix is what will make us successful!

I think a healthy Greene is a good player, Bobo should be fine at center. Other than that it's wait and see.

Micah Morris needs to step up. He’s the elder statesman on that line. He’s likely to not get rotated with Dylan Fairchild off to the league. Time for him to actually do it now.

Rumor was Monroe Freeling was hurt. I’m hoping so bc we need him fully healthy.

At running back, the Bulldogs return Nate Frazier, someone who is poised to become one of the top players at his position in the league. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him on one of Friday’s All-SEC teams.

This is why Dawgnation is good for comedy. Nate Frazier was 16th in rushing in the SEC last season. Even if you take away the QBs and/or the guys now in the NFL, he is 6th among returning tailbacks with only 3 yards separating him from #7 (Alabama's Jam Miller) and 10 separating him from #8 Amari Daniels. The All-SEC RBs will be Tre Wisner of Texas, Caden Durham of LSU and (likely) Le'Veon Moss of Texas A&M.

Yes, Wisner, the SEC's leading returning rusher with 1050 yards, plays for Texas. (No, Wisner didn't hog the ball to pile up stats as his backup Jaydon Blue had 730 yards and was a 5th round pick.) The analysts feel that Wisner, 5 star 230 lb RB CJ Baxter (the reason why Blue left early for the draft), 5 star soph WR Ryan Wingo, top 100 soph WR DeAndre Moore plus 2 of the top pass catchers in the portal, WR Emmett Mosley and TE Jack Endries, are going to give Arch Manning a lot more to work with this season than Gunner Stockton will have in Athens. Maybe that doesn't justify the Heisman hype, but the much better on paper supporting cast is absolutely why everyone thinks that Manning would put up better numbers than Stockton this season even if Manning and Stockton are equal in talent, skill and experience.

he’s “poised” to become that since he’s now the de facto RB1 for a team that will need to rely more on the run to help Gunner and the rest of the team to be successful. I don’t think it’s a stretch to project Nate Frazier as a top 5 RB in the sec

I agree, but only if the OL can be better than last year's version. At times last year, I'd cringe when Frazier or Etienne took the handoff, only to immediately face 2 defenders in the hole they were supposed to run into. Can't imagine what they were thinking (except in Etienne's case that going pro would be his ticket out of murder ball). I'm expecting the OL to be better, and for Frazier to show why he was one of the top HS recruits a couple of years ago. Go Dawgs!

agreed. I’m hoping injury held the squad back last year. Hearing good things about Drew Bobo at OC. Not that Jared Wilson was bad, just wasn’t a mauler. Also heard this squad is ready to shut some mouths.

But Connor originally said….that Gunner is just "mystery meat"
