ATLANTA — Gunner Stockton was soaking it all in at the College Football Hall of Fame this week, wearing a smile just as sure as he’ll wear Georgia’s famous “G” on his helmet this fall.

Been talking about Wiley as an immediate contributor for quite a while. Most have been obsessed with the extra star that Taylor has carried.

One thing I know for sure about Gunner, he will give it his all. And he’s one tough son of a gun. Go get ‘em, Gunner!

    GO DAWGS!

#1 Coach, #1 Defense, #6 Offense….BUT, once again the deepest most potentially talented Offensive team in D-1 football….the missing leadership piece has been found and his name is Gunner Stockton.

Not sure where you are getting your info. On D in '24 UGA ranked 51st in yards/game and 38th in points/game. On O UGA ranked 30th in yards/game and 23rd in points/game.

Not all schedules are created equal so these stats, while enlightening, are relatively discounted. But, considering the roster experience level, there is very little to predict that UGA will have the #1 D or "most talented O" in CFB in '25.

Fans may be putting way too much pressure on GS to be another Tua. I would've said another SBIV but SBIV needed every bit of Brock Bowers and UGA's '21 and '22 defenses to do what he did. UGA not lining up to have a '21 or '22 defense or another Brock Bowers.

if Gunner can be 17-18 Jake Fromm with a few designed runs that should be good enough. Defense needs a bounce back year.

The question is "Good enough for what?"

    Fromm '17-'18 62% completion on about 300 attempts. 24 TD's (passing) 7 INT's 3 rushing TD's. That's pretty high cotton for a 1st yr starter but may be doable.

IF GS does that well what is the team result? Not sure UGA wins the SEC if GS does that well. WAY different league than '17-'18. AND brutal schedule. I have faith the D will be better than last year but not that much better. Not convinced the OL will be markedly better than last year. The OL has plenty of bodies but, again, the league is much tougher now. Have to see the OL do it before I raise my expectations for the season.

just saying if he can attain that goal the team should be formidable. The defensive personnel is better now from 1-11 than it was in 2017-18. Obviously need to see it but with who Gunner has to throw to it’s possible.
