coaches coach and players play - gotta have both, but more about the players than coaches imo.

Like Kirby, ive gotta give props to both Faulkner, and King. Haynes King is a heckuva QB, he is a tough young man who never quits. And Faulkner has proven in 1 year as an OC why he will eventually become a head coach (and probably end up being a good one). He has a bright mind, and the willingness to work. That usually equates into success. If Faulkner can utilize Kings talents to the fullest, and get help from the offense, they could be a dangerous opponent for many teams they face this season. Still a DAWG all day, every day, but DO NOT overlook tech this year, or they could end UGA's season on a sour note. It is no longer an almost certain win as it once was..GoDAWGS!

@Eastmandawg a very true statement.. coaches only call the plays, up to the actual players to execute them. If the players fail at that, it doesnt matter how much talent you have on the field, or elite coaches on the sideline. Chances are good you won't be successful.

I'll go a one more step…."Georgia’s offense still ranked ahead in scoring offense, as the Bulldogs averaged 31.5 compared to Georgia Tech’s 28.5"……Yea, BUT….Buster did more with less talent than Bobo did with more talent…..this is not a slam on Mike, just a fact….Bobo/The Dawgs will have a GREAT 2025 season…definitely a playoff berth….Hopefully, Drew will come back for the 26 season before heading to the NFL…..at that time I'd say Buster is the #1 candidate for OC as I see Mike retiring…..Buster could put in 4-5 years and he would have a resume to be HC at any Power 4 conference.

No doubt he has proven himself and is a good OC…and you’re probably right, he may be the first choice to succeed Bobo - and by all counts, a good one.

I also think Bobo is an excellent OC. Bobo, Hutson Mason and the ‘14 team broke a school record for scoring that year. I wouldn’t exactly call that a super talented team as SEC teams go. That was quite a feat.

But if Kirby likes Bobo, so do I - he is closer to the situation than all of us here.

For now, Bobo is the OC and it does no good to talk about the situation, other than to stir up traffic here.

But again - what the hay, it is talking season.

you also forgot to mention having Todd Gurley and Nick Chubb who are probably in the top 3 of UGA RBs all time. That was also over ten years ago so the game has changed a bit.

Bobo looked fine in 2023. He looked unimaginative and uncreative in 2024. In 2025 we will find if that’s a personnel issue(OL, pass catchers) or a coaching issue (Bobo). Time will tell and the roster has been upgraded leading me to believe it’s at least partially personnel driven.

I love it and I'm happy for the NATS. He's a great coordinator. Hope they can hold on to him. He gave my dawgs all they wanted last year and embarrassed Miami. Love it.

    Only 1.5M?

So, not a Mike hater at all but if Bobo doesn't work out we can still steal Buster and bring him home, yes?

CMB retire? 50 yo guys don't walk away from $1.5M/yr jobs. CMB will hang on to his (lucrative) coaching career as long as he possibly can. Even Saban (who has more money than Gawd) is hinting at a return to coaching at 73.

    GT's last 5 recruiting classes(Rivals) ('21-'25): 43, 56, 63, 33, 24. For that talent level to hang w/UGA is puzzling if not embarrassing.

Amen! We were dead meat until they switched to throwing instead of running. I sat in my living room thinking “What’s going on.” Of course, I was glad it was going on but it was so weird. Why stop doing what had worked the whole game?

My only guess at the time it happened was GT knew the DAWGS were probably expecting a run in that situation, and a pass play could possibly catch the Defense by suprise..just a guess.

Why is it puzzling? There are only 11 guys on the field at any given time and the Bumblewasps top 20 players on roster rank right up there with any team in the league talent wise, it is the depth that kills them. When you can control the clock against a team like UGa, you are going to make it a tight affair imho…

at this level, depth is certainly key - so is motivation.
