    Kirby and Company is well play a sorry senior before they play a talented freshman.

    It sounded like the DL had it's way in the first scrimmage and got paid back in the second. UGA is striving to be among the very best in the nation on both sides of the ball, so healthy competition is to be expected. The first two games are not going to tell the tale, other than who really wants to give it their all as Kirby wants. He has ample time to mold and figure this out. The fact that Kirby and Shu are demanding the standard again says that spots will be up for grabs until the right players are in place to make it happen. They will be chopping hard in this week's practice I would imagine.

    Question: Does UGA has a new receivers coach for 2025? Hope so…

    you mean the WR coach that’s gotten Colbie Young, Noah Thomas, Talyn Taylor, and CJ Wileybto come to UGA and who are all doing well?

    James Coley is a solid WR coach and outstanding recruiter. Go Dawgs!

    @jdatl3:

    I actually agreed with you with this criticism in the past but I checked again and turns out that it isn't true. UGA WRs and TEs who were 1st, 2nd or 3rd round picks: Mecole Hardman, Riley Ridley, George Pickens, Jermaine Burton, Ladd McConkey, AD Mitchell, Brock Bowers. All of them played as true freshmen except for Mecole Hardman, who wasn't even a WR his freshman year at UGA (or at any point in high school where he was QB/DB), and Ladd McConkey, who was so skinny when he got to UGA that he had to redshirt. So the problem hasn't been Smart's failure to get big time WRs on the field fast enough. It has been his failure to land more than 7 such guys since 2016. It gets even worse when you remember that most of them came to UGA in the same 2 or 3 recruiting classes - Hardman and Ridley came in 2016; Pickens and star crossed 5 star Dom Blaylock in 2019; Burton, Darnell Washington, Arian Smith, McConkey came in 2020; Bowers and Mitchell in 2021 - so it has led to long stretches of subpar WR play.

    Gotta wonder if the unseasonable, cooler stretch of temperatures and the reduced injury list from the '25 practices are connected?

    OR has CKS realized that his practice physicality might be a little overkill and dialed it down a notch?

    i read somewhere they practiced primarily outside zone runs to avoid OL entanglements which usually led to injuries. Could be BS.

    Something seems different this year. Nary a peep about injuries. That can't be a coincidence unless the injury list is being concealed. Or Dawgnation isn't reporting it.
