Time to eliminate the Conference Championship games now.

Just trying to wrap my mind around not having a SECC…..I'm thinking the team with the best winning record over the nine SEC games is named SEC Champion….in the event of a tie, the team that has played the highest ranked teams is named Champion, thus preventing a loss entering the playoffs…..it could work I guess but I'd sure like things settled on the field.

May be time to reconsider the GT game. If it stays on the schedule, then all these other scheduled power 4 games will be dropped in favor of non P4 games. You need two breather games in a 12 game schedule

This caving by Sankey and Brooks are based on 3 factors:

    1. Succumbing to Big10 pressure and whining because they play a 9 game conference schedule. Who cares, they have a weak conference.

    2. Pressure to expand the Playoffs to an absurd number, also coming from the Big10.

    3. MONEY 💰

I support the move. Let's get rid of at least one of these patsy non-conference games (nothing but an opportunity for injuries), and add a decent P4 opponent. The ACC will follow suit. They won't get rid of GT on the schedule, so you can forget about that one going away.

If they do push this expansion to more than 16 teams, I do think the Conference Championship games will disappear.

I think the idea of three "traditional rivalries" will be a strecth for most of the teams. Bama has Tenn, Aub, and LSU; But no other team really has three long standing rivals. We have obviously have UF and Aub, but i wouldn't consider USC and Tenn as traditional rivals. UF has us, but I don't know that I'd consider LSU and Tenn as traditionals. Tex has OK and aTm, but who else as a traditional? Hopefully, the schedulers will consider evening out teams with strong rivals with the Ky's, Vandy's, Ark's and MS St's of the league when deciding who the permanants will be.

they money will come from ticket sales. This helps ensure home games continue to sell tickets. Saban was bemoaning this at Bama how always had poor attendance for the paycheck games.

Expansion was coming as it always does. Better opponents for home games are the trade off. FCS teams are the losers here as they will have to find a way to make up the financial difference.

GOnna be survival of the fittest. THese guys are going to earn their money. College becoming more and more like the NFL. Of a handful of teams the healthiest team at the end wins, .

Mike, we’re over the Beck years. Tattoos, Lambos, GIRLFRIEND!!!

I’d rather see tuba player videos than a QB who’s been gone for, oh since he hit UGA up for $millions before 2024, and you rightly called it a “hold out” on DawgNation Daily.

    Good read as always, Mike.

I personally think with the 9 conference games, no championship game is needed. All it does is punish the loser of the game. Instead of being the 2nd highest SEC school in the playoffs, the loser now has another loss which drops them down the pecking order. Also, this is just another game for someone to get hurt (Carson Beck last year).
