Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

@Eastmandawg I didn't cover Eason, but yes, I do write about current and previous Georgia quarterbacks — much more on the current. I also write on Mark Richt and other former Georgia players in the NFL. I would hope you feel we provide as much coverage on the current players as media opportunities and story angles allow.. Georgia was idle this Saturday, and Beck provided some insight into his time at Georgia that the national audience took in via GameDay. I do think it was kept in perspective with Gunner's achievements, which actually led the story today. Tonight's story, on the odds shrinking a little in Alabama game, features observations from Kalen DeBoer on Gunner and the UGA offense. It's been my experience that the more depth and perspective one can provide, the more clear the picture and background for fans to form opinions. Not everyone feels that way, I do understand, but the vast majority are very educated fans who take in as much as possible.
@Osmosiphobe — I can't speak to how every voter votes — and the poll clearly shows not everyone takes it into consideration, but I think you do see Miami moved to No. 2 in the AP Poll, so I would think some voters did consider that Miami's win was more impressive over Florida than the win LSU had the week before. I think transitive properties kept Georgia out of the 2023 CFP< too…… Texas beat Alabama in the regular season, Alabama beat Georgia in the SEC title game …. Texas and Alabama got in. So it's not fail-proof — teams do change, obviously. But it is one of the things people can and do look at. I think it's more valid than comparing stats of teams from different conferences, as Kirby has pointed out. Obviously won-loss record is big, but then we saw an 0-2 Notre Dane in the Top 25 last week. So there's no one formula people use, but I do think if two teams play the same team within a week of one another, it's a decent gauge.
Guys, “Body Language Beck” is a non-story. However…as long as we keep responding to (and on) these particular stories, they’ll keep writing them.
You started Cox Enterprises in 2016, right??
If so, Eason’s first season was in’16. In 2017, Georgia’s starting quarterback was Eason, then he was injured in the first game of the season. This lead to freshman Jake Fromm taking over as the starter for the remainder of the season.
The Notre Dame game if I remember correctly was his first game. If true, this indeed tells me you were there.
Pretty sure most “educated fans” only care about players that stay with the Dawgs and not the ones that have transferred out. That’s what most come to read about…their Dawgs, know your audience.
It’s okay to write about former players on a limited basis, but you seem to want to run it into the ground and have a long history of doing it.
It’s always the QB’s, it has been that way since your start at Cox. Your controversial style in delivering it all is annoying - can’t imagine you’ve never been told this before.
Nonetheless, if this is the only way you can captivate an audience, go for it
Your job, your employer, do what you want & whatever you think it takes. I’m just an “educated fan” giving some feedback.
Mike starting covering the Dawgs in the 2018 season after Emerson left for the athletic.
I thought his name was Easterling. Lol...whatever...just kidding.
Eason Started...Fromm Started...Mathis Started...Bennett Started...Daniels Started...Bennett Started...Beck Started...Stockton is the Man NOW!!! I count a total of 7 Starting quarterbacks under Kirby.
I care about all those Dawgs. And, I save a little in reserve for the likes of Fields & Beck and others that decided to part ways in an untimely fashion.
More times than not...it's a good move for the Dawgs and the Player. I like to see all former players that donned a Dawg Uniform become successful. It's good PR for the Program. And a win-win proposition for the Dawgs.
Heck...they just reload with an equally talented replacement.
I've never heard a legit Bulldog, have anything bad to say about Kirby Smart, his Staff...or, the University. Just look at the positive press the NFL Dawgs are creating.
@MikeGriffith I'd like to see you do that piece, highlighting everybody on UGA's schedule....like you did after the 2nd game, I think it was. Where do they stand, now wrt to the Dawgs. Their records, rankings, offense, defense, personnel, etc..
That was an interesting way to report on "the season". Just sayin'.. Keep up the good work....imho.
@BigDawg61 Here is the schedule story I did after Week 3, so yes, I do plan to continue that:

With Miami's run game and tough defense, I don't see CB having to be put on the spot like he was at UGA. He's not under such great pressure. He can be a game manager.
THere were times last season where we couldn't carry out the game plan(run the ball) - 8 games where we scored 10 or less in the 1st half and Bobo just had to allow CB to wing it in the 2nd half and he usually would either bring us from behind or add to a slim lead. He did a very good job at it.
Wait'll Miami has to face Tech's Defense and the 2 Haynes' in the backfield. Tech is gonna crush em. Mark my words. Lol
This ain’t your Granddaddy's Tech team. This team has a big toxic stinger.
In fact....they could be "Tracker-Jackers" ,this season. Lol
That’s a fair assessment and a reasonable response. Consider, though: South Florida is 3-1 and still unranked, yet they beat the lizards IN THEIR HOUSE. That property obviously only goes so far, especially considering Notre Dame is 1-2 and only has a win against lowly Purdue.
