It's been a perfect storm of issues the last couple of years from injuries to guys not living up to their billing. But, ultimately the buck stops with Searels. He's got to be able to develop these young guys quickly while keeping them as healthy as possible. I still go back to Ohio State last season. Their O-line was a disjointed, injured mess through the first half of the season. But, they finally figured out a consistent lineup, and the O-line, for the most part, played well enough to help protect Howard and open up running lanes for Junckin and Henderson.

Gunner does not do very well under pressure in the pocket, and he is simply not very accurate passing any medium to long balls vertically on the run. Our O-line has got to come together (especially the right side) starting today if we want to have a successful regular and post season.

There is one thing (beyond injuries) that has been consistent about our OL struggles since the two Natty's: Searels.

Looks like Luke’s recruits have now cycled through and Searles is left to stew in his own juices. I wish CKS would recruit elite coaches with the same zeal that he recruits elite players.

Looks like all of Luke’s recruits have cycled through the system and Searles is left to stew in his own juices. He and Bobo have been passed around the SEC like a cheap six pack. I wish CKS would recruit elite coaches with the same zeal with which he recruits elite players. The Feiends and Family program isn’t working out too well.

With all of the talent on the O line last season and it couldn’t ever gel into a dominant cohesive offense line, that’s all on the O line coach. Searels wasn’t good his first stint under Richt and he’s clearly shown he hasn’t gotten any better. When Pittman gets fired from Arkansas this season, I hope Kirby gets him back on staff pronto.

@Beachwagon....Amen to that! I think this may be the final chance for Searels and possibly Bobo. We've got the most talented roster in the nation, yet they are a lot of young players. But you can't just recruit talent well these days. You've got to develop guys quickly and get them on the field. Every year going forward will probably have a vastly different roster and new challenges. The HC who can navigate the year-to-year changes and new players the best will come out on top.

the only good recruit Luke left was Earnest Greene and he’s constantly hurt. Most of the others have transferred out.

Aliou Bah, Jacob Hood, griffin Scroggs all transferred from 22. Drew Bobo is still around but how much did Luke have to do with that recruitment?

Gaston, Hughley, and Freeling are all Searles guys. Micah Morris is leftover from Sam Pittman.

We've had two big coaching losses in the last few years—Matt Luke who is now at Clemson and Buster Faulkner who is at GT. I know Matt Luke quit for family reasons, but how did we let Faulkner get away—and to a school with the play-off possibilities and NCAA clout of Wake Forrest?

I would, right now move, move Searels to analyst, and move Rauscher to O-line Coach. We need new blood in that room. Then offer Pittman what it would take for 3 years (Assistant Head Coach, $3M per year, etc) to fix the mess.

I agree with you on Searels. The facts support that the O-line has underperformed under him.

Georgia just scored over 40 points on the road in Knoxville and bailed out a defense that had a horrible day. I don’t know what more we should expect and why so many fans despise Bobo. He’s running the style of offense the head coach wants, who is on the headset during the games and influencing play calls.

BAH!!!…ain't scared, neither is Bobo. The last I looked Dawgs put 44 on the board in Knoxville, might be more concerned with Beck under center.

    Dawgs are due..
