I like having a couple of smaller really quick slot guys on the roster that can separate vs man coverage, hope this kid ends up with us.

Imo....the Dawgs are headed into this season...waaaay better prepared than they were going into the '21 Season. Offensively….as well as Defensively, this time.

This could be a Dawg Year for the Ages. I have a feeling, these guys have bonded and are determined to win it all in '26. I feel a recommitment to excellence from everybody associated with UGA.

In any case...the Dawgs are loaded and the Season "seems" schedule-friendly. Anything less than a Championship, might feel like a letdown.

Although, I don't see it that way. I just like to watch them compete for 4½ Whole Quarters. They never let me down, there. Not under Kirby Smart, anyway. Lol

offense was pretty solid coming in to 2021 season. Fewer question marks.

    No Quarterback.

Daniels was injured and Bennett was green. The Defense beat Clemson, in the opening game.

IMO....Bowers & McConkey.…along with James Cook, K-Mac, G. Pickens and a few others...bought the Offense time to gel under a relatively new Coaching Staff.

Not to mention, one of the stengiest defenses I've ever seen, at the College level. Lol...can't beat em, if ya can't score on em. And, UGA's defense played like an All-World Goalie in hockey tournament. Nod to Jim Craig's '80 Olympic performance.

I hope they DO have the Bowers/McConkey type combo this year. From what I've seen....the odds are pretty good with Prothro, Frazier, Taylor and a few others. Add in a seasoned quarterback....and, now you've got something.

And, I love that offensive line. Love it! They got the ingredients.…no doubt about that. With an energetic O-Line Coach. I look for massive improvement over last year's inconsistent, inexperienced....and often injured....Offensive Line..

Which will equate to a massive improvement in the performance at quarterback. N9 matter, who's behind center.

If this were Chess....the Dawgs already have the SEC in Check. Lolol....go get em Big Red!

JT was a better QB than Gunner is. He was no more dinged up than Gunner was all last season. Gunner certainly is able to play through more pain than JT was, but it’s some serious revisionist history to discount what JT brought to this team in 2021. He got Wally Pipp’d by Stetson and then his injuries took a toll on his remaining career…but in 2021 he was a top SEC QB.

also not sure how Stetson was “green” being a fifth year senior. Sure he didn’t have many starts under his belt, but he had more starts than all of our current backups combined

Regardless of how repulsive he showed himself to be, Jermaine Burton was a good WR. George Pickens was already out for the season. I would say this years group of pass catchers is beginning with similar unknowns.

The 2021 OL was much more established and senior laden than the upcoming 2026 season. Much more able to withstand injuries also. Salyer at LT could play every position on the line, Shaffer who was 5th year senior, RS freshman Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, senior Warren Erickson, and RT Warren McClendon. While Dontrell and Gaston show potential, Bobo and his lisfranc injury means he’s not guaranteed to be back to 100%.

But this could be another case of the BigDawg “just sayin stuff.”

Daniels didn't do any more in CFB than his opponent, that day. DJU....whom also, had a Dr Pepper Commercial, that night.....You know....because he was projected to be "great", too. Lol....haven't seen that commercial played, since.

I think the '21 season speaks for itself. I don't have to recite or revise history. Cause, everybody knows it....whether they say it or not. Egos get in the way of reflection, sometimes.

Some people take it hard, when they realize they were wrong about something...like a player or team or coach. That's when they start to rationalize and develop memory lapses. Lmao

Daniels could've been a good one, in the right offense. Unfortunately for him....the game is through with the "pocket passer". And, that's what he was. A good one, too...imo. But, UGA, West VA. & Rice gave him a shot and it didn't work out.

I'm not gonna "say" that Daniels did more than he did....nor, will I "say" he did less. If not for Bennett...the Dawgs would've lost a couple of games during the '21 season with Daniels under center.

"also not sure how Stetson was “green” being a fifth year senior"____Kasey

Apparently, you never played the game. Lol....just kidding. I'm sure you realize...that, "Longevity has nothing to do with on-field experience". There IS no substitute for playing in a game.…especially, for a quarterback.

That was Bennett's 2nd swing in 2 years, after suffering a shoulder injury, versus Florida the year before. He played in 4 or 5 games in '20....which admittedly helped him shed the "green" moniker.

And....just for the record....Stockton was "green" this year. That might give my opinion a little perspective.

Gaston...has potential!? Did you even watch him play last year. He was one of the most polished and dominant Freshman I've seen at UGA, since Jones. They've got a couple of other ballers we'll be seeing a lot of this year, as well. The names escape me....but, they aren't hard to find.

Imo....This year's line is more talented and athletic than the '21 o-line. And, i'll stand by that. That's the position i played.

Just to be clear....I thought Daniels got a raw deal. Not by USC, UGA....or WV....but, by "The Fickled Finger of Fate". He had an arm and a good head on his shoulders.…but, that's about it. I look for him to be one helluva coach, someday.

I only be sayin' stuff...when I'm stirrin' the pot. Lolol....it's too early to start cookin'..

    Go Dawgs!

    1. Cool…now do JT’s other games as the starter, not just the one against Clemson. Let me know what you find out.
    2. if JT is healthy, we likely still accomplish the goal, but don’t get the fun Stetson story.
    3. Stockton was green. He’s not any more. Hope he takes a similar leap that Stetson took in 2022. But we were talking about this years backups. Stetson was more qualified in 2021 than any backup QBs we currently have on the roster.
    4. Gaston looked great. He’s still a sophomore. Let’s see how he looks when all eyes are on him. Feel free to expand on the other 4/5ths of the OL at your leisure.
    5. Bottom line.::I have more questions about the 2026 team than I do the 2021 team. Not saying they can’t accomplish as much as the 2021 team, but with how I saw last season finish, coupled with what we lost, I remain dubious.

I'm not saying my total recall on '21 is completely accurate....detail-wise. But, the gist is all the same...cause, THAT I haven't forgotten. Lol. The older i get....the more I get the '20-'22 Season details mixed up. But, the overall impressions, remain.

In '21....and likely '22....Bama's Defense, alone....would've crushed Daniels. They would've had him on the run, the entire game....as they did, Bennett at times. Daniels can NOT play that kind of game. Look what Clemson did to him....that's all I'm sayin' on Daniels.

He had the same issues at WVU. Yeah....I kept up. I was....am, a Daniels fan. I'm not gonna beat up on a lame horse, though. I'll just say...as a player..."Daniels was average in today's game. And, he was behind his time., though i believe he's gonna make for one helluva coach.". Lol

IMO....UGA's ground game in '21 was average to slightly above, at best.. Their best play by a running back....was that swing route and wheel route by James Cook. His speed and durability, helped open the offense up, along with Bowers and Bennett....(consistently).

Imho....If the Dawgs didn't have a mobile QB, in '21....they likely would've lost a couple of games. Costing them "a. Tshot". Just sayin'. You can't spin it any other way....imo. But, go ahead and try. Lol

Btw....imo...Daniels' best game was the one vs Notre Dame, while he was a Trojan....in his 1st Season. And....THAT was after reclassify'ing in his HS Junior Year. That "might be" the most impressive thing about Daniels' CFB Career. It's a darn shame, what could've been.

one thing is for certain…you can spin it any way you want to make you seem right.
