Georgia basketball St Louis box score, recap NCAA tournament
BUFFALO, N.Y. â March has many familiar beats. âOne Shining Momentâ upsets and teams cutting down the nets as they advance deeper in the NCAA tournament.

Georgia basketball is a joke. Why Josh Brooks saw fit to extend Mike White before the end of the season is one of a growing case of collossal blunders in Georgia Basketball history. OK great. Georgia got to the SEC tourney with a first round bye. And what did they do with it? They lost to one of the worst teams in the SEC. OK fine. Now they play Saint Louis. With a week to prepare. A lower seed. And they got absolutely outclassed from the opening tip. Charles Barkley made fun of them at halftime. This is the Georgia brand of basketball. A punchline. Why would any half decent player come here? They looked like a high school team. Defense? What defense? They stood around while St. Louis slashed to the basket for easy layups. They were shell shocked and unprepared. But let's give the coach a raise. Where could I find a gig like that? Sign me up.
I'm 65 and have been watching UGA Bball since I was 10. Why, with all the resources and money can't Georgia field a decent basketball team? If this is the high water mark, somethings really wrong.
Half the team will be in the portal tomorrow if not the whole team. Josh Brooks hired him, so far none of his hires have made any improvement in any team. Just googled it UGA does not have any basketball commits for 2027, none, zero. I guess White has been to busy spending his new raise.
no disrespect to any of these guys suiting up in red and black…but I’m not sure many will be missed.
Given the Class B Podunk B-Ball that was displayed…who would take a chance on any of our guys??? BUT, what hurt the most was to be criticized by a "Dam_War Eagle"…..but then, maybe The Dawgs should hire King Charles….at this point that's the only way I see we ever get any player of worth to come to UGA.
White gets 4 mil per annum for the next 5 years. Florida is laughing all the way to the final 4 again. Josh saved them from firing White and then they grab up an outstanding coach. White's coaching ability can be sum up by the play of Soto Cyril. He went from being a dominant inside force at the beginning of the season to a liability to the team.
I've said t in the past, this guy is overrated - He said on natty tv: yup we are ready, been preparing for SLU all week. That was coaching y'all! OR a huge lack there of. CMW has improved but this pattern of not being ready is consistent
With all the talk of financial stress on universities and response of eliminating olympic & women's sports, UGA should cut men's basketball. Use that money to get some football linemen from the portal.
I tried really hard to buy into Mediocre Mike, to those that new better, I apologize…
Catchings…ZERO for 16 with 3 turnovers in only 18 minutes of playing time…how is that even possible that A - a player of his caliber can miss every single shot (imagine the Vegas betting odds on that)…and B - how can a P4 head ball coach keep subbing him in?
Ironically SL made exactly 16 more buckets than UGA (Wonder what the Vegas betting odds are on that).
The fix was in plain and simple. Follow the money…numbers never lie.
Pitiful, Frustrating, Unwatchable, EMBARASSING, wash, rinse, repeat….
Looks like Coach White has earned another contract extension and raise.
It looked like Mark Richt trying to play Alabama. Didn't look prepared, didn't seem to want to be there, and didn't look like they practiced all week. The lack of hustle and lack of basic fundamentals makes me wonder if something else wasn't going on.
Embarrassing..
Mike White: "Really proud of our regular season. We broke records. " Sounds good if you say it real fast, but the reason you "broke records ' is at the start of the season, the 11-1 start, we played against non-conference , sub-par opponents like Bellermine (who?), Maryland Eastern Shore, Morehead State, Florida A&M, Xavier, Tennessee Tech, Westen Carolina, West Georgia and LIU ( again, who?). You could play the undisciplined, no defense , no block out, no rebounding type of street ball and come out OK against those teams. The SEC record of 10-8 is fairly underwhelming, as was the 0-2 tournament record starting out with a whopping 20 points against Ole Miss in the first half, capped off by the most dismal display of bad coaching and even worse shooting against St Louis than I have ever seen. Could have easily been a 40 point loss if Saint Louis didn't turn down the heat in the end to get ready for Michigan. The most telling stat for me, points in the paint: SL 66, GA 22.
