Seems to show how good the coaches were last year. Lots of youth and not as much top tier talent. But we all know by now how good our coaches are. This just adds more support. The last 2 years were the best coaching jobs I have ever seen at UGA.

i hope that maybe this could encourage kids to stick around for a little more development. I don’t think it was a good pick but the Ty Simpson story of sitting for so many years at the same school and then get picked first round. It’s a good story, and hoping in combination with low first rounders we keep these kids around and develop depth.

    Either way, go dawgs!

I agree with missing the journalists you mentioned. A lot of these articles have information from national publications or smaller outlets like podcasts. Very little original articles from Dawg Nation now. This is probably why they don’t charge for access to it… yet.

The Florida D tackle went before UGA's. Hard to believe the vikings are that dumb.

So what is so polarizing about Mr Branch? Wish all available Dawgs good luck but hard for me to get excited about NFL draft. Much more interested in upcoming college season.

I looked at mock drafts from a bunch of CBS guys and only one of them had more than just Freeling in the 1st round, so I'd say things went as expected. I think Branch will be an underrated pick and will have a very successful NFL career.

It definitely is frustrating that Ohio State always seems to have a lot of players in the 1st round which encourages more players to sign with them, but that's just the difference between our programs. Georgia isn't about showing off players, it's about a solid team cohesion and working and improving. I'm just surprised NFL teams haven't realized that Georgia players are almost always a steal.

This is hilarious! I stopped listening to Dawgnation podcast and reading their articles for this exact thing. I just happened to think this morning to see if Dawgnation had changed, logged in for the first time in over a year, and seems things are still the same. Yes! Seth Emerson, Chip Towers, and Bill had the best original stories about not just football, but interviews with the school president, athletic director, etc. that made this website special and #1 amongst all Bulldog Nation. Dawgnation has sloppy writing and I had started calling them ESPN jr. since Connor can only write about what ESPN put out there due to no creativity.

I've always said too, once Jeff leaves the show, you will see a mass exodus to other sites and podcasts. It's time to replace Connor and Mike Dawgnation and find some new A-listers.

I think it would have benefited Branch to stay another year.

Totally agree. By the end of the season teams had figured him out

Answer to "what to make of…"

Justifies Kirby & Staff, winning the SEC with a group of HS kids facing portal-hoppers, NIL bag-snatchers, and grown-ass men!

Coaching Award Committees were just flat wrong, almost as bizarre as the Ty Simpson draft pick.

The NIL effect is really showing itself. We now go after 3 stars to develop and also affordable. If Kirby can hang on to these they will develop over (long) time. To the good, we now have for two years in a row, had true freshman in the OL room that either have started or played a lot. Lets hope we can transfer that development skill to the DL side. GATA!
