The officer then continued to give Branch instructions to move from the sidewalk and that if he did not, he would receive a citation for blocking the sidewalk.
Why did it go from a citation (which is still laughable) to arrest? Sounds like overreach by the Police.
Forget Branch, he's gone and a rent a player anyway. His ilk didn't grow up wanting to be a Dawg.
What possible reason, other than making it easy for keyboard cowards to harass the guy on social media, would there be for releasing the officers name. All Branch had to was say yes sir and move along - end of story! He probably was trying to show bystanders how tough he was, bowed up a little, and got arrested. Can somewhat understand a citation for blocking the sidewalk. But why was he arrested? Seems rather excessive. Was it Smirking in the first degree or second degree that got him tossed in the slammer? Doubt this impacts his draft status.

Who's to say, he wasn't doing...exctly what we've seen thousands of people and politicians doing with impunity, over the last decade.
Peacefully Protesting the impingement of his right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. God gave him the right to stand his ground, absent an emergency. Not the government.
Even then....as a taxpaying Citizen, the "government" should back him in that endeavor in accordance with it's own laws and customs….imo. This was a clear case of empirical overreach and should be corrected.
