They had said all pre-draft they wanted asap help for Stafford to get back to the Super Bowl before his age starts showing and then bam, they select a project choice for a development scheme that will takes years to show fruit. Sounds like something the Falcons would do!

supposedly the rams GM and Simpson’s dad are tight and this was a GM pick. McVay at the press conference seemed unenthused

Well said sir! Amazing effort from CKS & staff, swimming upstream all year.

But, last season felt like the end of something…

pistol-whipping a rival in the SECCG, then scrapping that offensive game-plan for the next opponent?

    uncertain in-game decision-making from a coaching GOAT?

the defense losing its collective mind in the final minutes of a playoff game against a ragtag group of portal players from Ole Miss with a HC in his first game?

Hope my intuition is totally off, but the game is in hostage-mode and needs a Reagan-type badass to blow it up & reset things to normal!

Ty Simpson looked pretty good vs UGA on 9/27/25. Certainly a reach at 13 but that's what teams do trying to find a QB. No one is mentioning that picking Simpson all but assures that SBIV will be out of a job (w/the Rams) later this year UNLESS inexperienced (15 games started at AL) Simpson can prove capable of being LA's #2 QB.

OSU had 4 players picked in the first 11 draft choices. NIL has certainly changed CFB.

Branch's arrest shouldn't have a big impact on his draft position unless there is more to the story than what has been reported. Branch was never expected to be 1st rd. He will probably still go in the 2nd rd.

Down year for UGA relative to the NFL draft because if the youth on the team. Still counting 10 returning 5* players on the UGA D in '26.

yeah Ty wasn’t quite as sharp tho on that rematch in the seccg

Just seems a bit risky at 13 on a dude with one year of being the guy

can’t believe Ohio had four of the top 11 picks and couldn’t win it all. They’d burn Kirby in effigy (or at least Mike Bobo) if that happened here.

There is nothing to make of this at all. We had a first-round OL draft pick, which is better than 90 percent of all the other D1 schools. What is the issue here? Next year, we will see more. Two that I can think of right now. I mean, is this really a story??

Little surprised to see Ty S. go so early. He looked really good on I believe the opening drive aginst us the first game where I believe he completed 12-13 or something to that affect, where we played 7 yards off their receivers(not going to burn us long defense,I guess) but the remained of that game and in the next one we won he was less than 50% completion rate.

I would have much more feared SB had he been the QB for BAMA in those 2 games thanTY. . Guess that's why I'm not a draft analyis.

KIper's not that good. All the writers can get together and predict the top 20 players. Not that difficult. NFL player personnel basically play with the writers pre-draft. He missed on most of his picks as did the other so called experts.

Guys, the B1G has cleaned the SEC's clock in the 1st Round….of course, they have also dominated the playoffs the last 3 seasons. Oh yeah, and won the last 3 Nattys. Ohio State alone had (4) players taken in Round 1.

Why is anyone surprised that the Dawgs - out in the 1st round of the playoffs the last 2 seasons - ain't got squat when it comes to high level elite talent being taken in Round 1???

C'mon, this isn't rocket science fellas…the SEC ain't what it used to be right now…we may have the toughest overall regular season schedule, but that isn't translating to success in the playoffs - where it REALLY matters. Whine all you want, just like Lane Kiffin, but we'd better figure out how to get back on top.

The drop-off in talent for the Dawgs compared to 2020-2022 is very large.

Down year after breathing thin air for a good stretch. No excuses for 2026.

    We have the talent.

    Do we have the coaching?

Ty Simpson was an easy pickup for LA. A great understudy for Stafford. LA's playing the long game. Smart. After all, McVay is a Marist grad.

Either....Simpson will be Bennett's understudy....or, LA is gonna use Bennett or Simpson as a bargaining chip to aquire a veteran they've got their eye on.

While Bennett WAS a 4th rounder at the time he was drafted. I would argue that he's far more valuable now, than he was, then. And, imo....a better quarterback for the Sean Mcvay Offense.

I just don't see Simpson fitting in with the Rams. Lol…maybe, they'll give him a year off to think about it.
