i truly hope they are disappointed....when all of the Junior Dawgs decide to return for a Senior Encore Moment.
Go Dawgs!!! Stack that wood...Lol. Ya got a lot more chopping to do, before you can build that Championship Shrine for your Class.
The dawgs you've mentioned still have a lot to prove. The NFL expects you to be ready.
Wishful thinking, but I wouldn't bet the ranch on coming back for a senior year.
Lol....yeah, I know. Just plantin' the seed. Ya never know, with NIL being what it is...and the NFL operating in Mediocre'ville. What's the hurry?
Let em thin themselves out a little bit with the not-ready-for'PrimeTime talent coming out of CFB in general, these days.
While the Senior Dawgs of Class of '28 continue to get better....and better.…and better. And....they're still gettin' paid.
I'm not talking about all of em, mind you. Just the ones, not projected to go in the 1st Round.
I guess I could see 1 and 4 going in the 1st rd. They both have high ceilings. The NFL drafts on potential as much as they draft on production. But unless KJ has a real break out year this year, safe to say, he hasn't lived up to the hype he came in with. 3 INT's in 28 games as a free roaming safety would not have been the prediction for him coming into the program. Not sure how someone of his talent level isn't around the ball more.
i think Ellis has the best chance to go first round. Agree with you on KJ. Wanna see more production with all the resources put in to him. If the light comes on for Raylen Wilson (or the DL fakes a major step up) he might go first just off his testing, but seemingly ILB isn’t undervalued in the NFL.
I have to agree with both of you. I've been a little disappointed in KJ's impact. Seems like he came in, with the same hype-monster that ushered Caleb Downs (#11 DP) into CFB. Yet, I haven't seen anything close to the impact Downs had at Bama.
On the flip side....I've been very impressed with the steady improvement & impact of '24's #1 CB...Ellis Robinson. I think he's about to have his way with some SEC Defenses this year.
My comments, vis a vis this article, were solely regarding #'s 1 and 4. There are 8 or 9 5* players on the '26 D. I would expect a number of them to develop and reach 1st rd status by the time they become eligible for the NFL draft.
RWilson took a big step forward last year. His recognition and instincts seemed to finally catch up with his physical abilities. IF he can take the next step (and stay healthy) he should have an excellent year and put himself in the 1st rd conversation.
Another good candidate for a break out year would be CCole. The sky is the limit for this player. How will he be used by CGS? THAT is the key. CKS and CGS need to turn this dude loose this fall.
@BigDawg61 You are right. KJ vs Downs were considered equally talented players coming out of HS. I hadn't really thought of the 2 in comparison. The perception (reality?) is that Downs was one of the best players in CFB last season. KJ? Not in the conversation. However if you look at the stats, other than the big year Downs had as a FR at AL, their stats are relatively comparable. IF KJ has a BIG year this year (fully expected) it will be interesting to compare their career stats after the season.
