Our TE room is loaded and we have limited NIL. I will be pleased, but shocked if selects UGA. Fingers crossed….

😂😂 NIL is definitely not limited. Just spent differently. Utilized keeping proven guys rather than grabbing unproven high schoolers.

@Kasey Hi Kasey and I understand his plan and appreciate your post. All I am adding is that there is only a very small pool of Ultra-Elite prospects and paying top $ for one of these is a no braniner. Otherwise, we just wind up having to play against them.

@Kasey and @RedUga4Ever You are both right. NIL is not limited like the new revenue sharing model that seems to have been adopted by everyone this year.

BUT there would seem to be a limit on how much NIL can be spent. I believe there is a new NIL clearinghouse being initiated this year. I have no idea what the impact of that will be. The real limiting factor for NIL would seem to be how much money donors to NIL are going to be willing to donate going forward. Theoretically unlimited. Realistically?

Love to get Mr. Dollar. Realistically does he want to come to UGA and ride the bench for 2 years? Does UGA want to pay (or recommend use of NIL) for a back up 5* TE for 2 years?

well I think UGA has shown if you can play as a freshman, you can play early (unless you’re a QB of course). Brock, Darnell, and Ethan Barbour as well as Elyiss all got some run.

The log jam should clear up some as Luckie is out of eligibility and with a good year Reddell might jump (huge if though). Prothro may still be in the WR room but who knows.

I’m guessing Dollar is betting on the TE pedigree Hartley has established here.

If only we had someone who could actually connect on a 22-yard route.

You're right. Most decent freshman get to play some at UGA. Take Bowers out of the conversation. He was definitely an outlier. I wouldn't say Washington, Reddell, Robinson or Barbour (injured) got extensive PT as freshmen. They got a taste. Reddell (3rd yr already?), Robinson (2nd yr) and Barbour (2nd yr) should all play a lot this year (and next?). Don't forget that UGA signed 3 TE's in '25 if you count Prothro.

Hartley is a great recruiter of TE's. OC Bobo use of TE's? Not so much. Not only a big year for GS but also a big year for CMB. Bobo has an experienced QB and a room full of elite TE's. Pressure is on Bobo to figure it out.

Looks like UGA landed him (for now). Hope he sticks. Long way to signing day. Glad to have him. A lot of money tied up in 1 position. Especially if you (CMB) aren't gonna throw to them.

well Barbour was out there a bunch till he got hurt. So it can be done.

(Some of) the usage can be blamed on Bobo for sure. Or Gunner for not seeing it. It’s being coached or allowed to happen I agree. But we are frequently in 12 personnel. So there are more snaps to go around if we were constantly in 11.

Dollar also has the size where we could rep him like Prothro too I suppose. And you are right that this could all be moot if someone drops an obscene bag for him to flip. But I’m hoping he sticks.

Either his height is way off, or this highlight reel is games against every high school team from the land of Oz.
