Braves start the series with a 4-3 win against the Bluejays!
Elder pitched a 6 2/3 inning gem….6 hits 3 runs and 6 strikeouts! A Bullpen saver! Next, up came two parts of the Deathstar trio of Suarez and Iglesias (who now has 29 consecutive saves!). No need for D. Lee in this one!
Olson with his 17th HR of the year….that’s second in the league! Coupled with a double he fell one short of tying the franchise record of most extra base hits in 61 games (Aaron and Freeman with 37)….Just bringing it!
Weiss still chasing wins! Leon with a perfectly timed ABS challenge overturning the ball call for a third strike, third out for Suarez in the eighth! Just can’t make this stuff up!
Gotta love these guys!
definitely a "gritty" win. Not much offense after the 3rd inning, other than Olson's HR. But good pitching kept the aliens from scoring. We were actually "outhit" but we had bigger hits. Tense there in the 9th with Iglesias giving up two hits but shutting the door on any scoring. Again, a "gritty" win. Not pretty but a win. I say we'll take it.

Just read where Drake Baldwin may return to active duty on July 16th or so. Can't wait.
Braves win again! Ozzie & Dubon with 3 run homers - winners 7 to 3!

And coupled with the lowest ERA in the majors, is outstanding!
Braves sit at 42-20…..62 games in with 100 to go.
They could go 50-50 here on out and end up 92-70 ( and I definitely see them doing better than that!)….Still most likely making the playoffs!

Nice win last night for the Bravos. Another Dubon HR. Not sure why Iglesias seemingly has to get runner in scoring position before he does his magic, but I guess the magic is enough. Another great inning from Fuentes. Can't wait til he can shave and become a starter.
The more they win the more I worry about the slump that will come at some point. A lifetime of watching the Braves has done this to me I'm afraid.

Every team has a slump every season - a mini one perhaps, or a major one. Anywhere from 90-95 wins is pretty dang good. Anything above 95 is gravy to me. They are due for some sort of "slump" for sure. Hopefully not a major one. I suspect it will come after the All Star break
Braves get another series win. Im hearing Baldwin is back next home stand.
Phillies lose today with a Braves win the lead right back to 9.5. NL East is all but over. Phillies are playing better ball but cant make a dent in that lead. Baseball Reference has the Braves at 96.7 % to win the division.
Imagine beating the Phillies in the postseason. Then the Dodgers in the NLCS. Followed by beating the Yankees in the WS. That would be my dream scenario finish for the Braves.
Who knows how it will play out but the Braves are playing as well as anybody right now.
I didn't see the play, but Dubon was credited with stealing home and Albies second base. I'm guessing this the result of a double steal. Outstanding play.
Also, terrific play by Acuna fielding a hit ball and making a perfect throw to Olsen who fired a strike towards Home plate for the tag on O'Neil Cruz attempting to score.
