Oklahomaâs bats remained scorching hot, racking up 12 hits â including five more home runs â and got a quality start from freshman Nick Wesloski.

The Dawgs left their bats in Athens.
Elite pitching always beats good hitting. No ability to score with small ball killed us. We lived off of home runs and good pitching stops that. Great season and maybe one day we can come back to the series.
we actually had a pretty well rounded hitting team this year. Just picked an awful time to go into a slump.
Great season Diamond Dawgs!! I gave up watching MLB years ago and only had a mild interest in the college game. However, this season, you guys dressed in the Red and Black reminded me again of how great this game is and much I love it! Proud of all of you guys! Congratulations on a tremendous season! Go get ‘em next year! Go Dawgs!
Really nice sentiments and I fully agree. I gave up on MLB during the 1992 strike... millionaires on strike and the unreal game lengths pushed me away. This year, after being drawn in by all the excitement around the Dawgs, I not only enjoyed the season, but fully rekindled my interest in the sport, at least at the college level.
Thank you, Dawgs, for an amazing, inspirational season and bringing me and my wife back to baseball!
What Kudzu and BornADawg said. Loved it. Thank you young men and coaches.
Disappointed in the outcome, proud of the season.
Go Dawgs!
Just like in the Majors, pitching wins championships. I heard an analyst say before the SEC Championship tournament that as good as Georgia was, he saw pitching as a weakness. No doubt, we had some great performances, but starting depth was maybe not there.
But what a great year! SEC Champions and a final four finish. Wes Johnson is building a juggernaut in Athens and we have great things ahead.
Yep. Agree. You described exactly how I feel and the vast majority of Dawg Nation. I salute our Diamond Dawgs, great ride guys !!
