It's kind of ironic that (3) of the Nike players added from Georgia are TEs…a position we don't seem to use very much any longer other than as blockers!

Yes, you are so spot-on! I do think that if they all told to be primary a blocker and every now and then get a 4 yard "safe" pass attempt, that several of these will jump ship no matter the retainment NIL. They want to be a factor that gives them recognition from the NFL.
if we don’t use guys like Reddell, Barbour, and Elyiss properly they will all go elsewhere. And I wouldn’t blame them. There’s no reason why they all can’t get some love this season. We used to do that with TEs. It wasn’t just Brock Bowers. DW0 and John Fitzpatrick and later Oscar Delp were all out there.
@Kasey getting these players involved is a big part of "recruiting your own roster" that has become necessary during the transfer portal era. I would like to see Todd Hartley have a bigger role in the offensive strategizing/play calling because he knows what these guys are capable of and truly believes in them. We can't afford to lose them or Todd Hartley!
Not sure why it would be privileged info only available to Hartley. One would think the offensive coordinator would know the same thing and work to get them the ball but I digress.
