I hate the title to this article. Negative titles are such a downer before the season starts.
Feels like this article could of been titled differently.
Funny there was no mention of the OL. All offensive performance begins at the LOS. A dominant OL will make average playmakers look brilliant. The opposite is true.

Good points all and you have to be realistic. We won so many games last year by the skin of out teeth, it just is an open can of worms to predict how this year will pan out. IMO, injuries or the lack of, will be the biggest factor because NIL has removed any vestiges of depth. Wish the first game was this weekend!!
This title is typical passive aggressive negative nanny Connor at his best. Why are y'all surprised? I step away from this site for a few months and come back to the same AJC song and dance.
As usual, there's a lot of focus on the offensive side of the football and the QB position. However, this team, like most of the teams of the KS era, will go as far as the defense takes them. The biggest question on defense will be whether the Dawgs can get consistent pressure on the opposing QB with four players. No one upfront, especially in the middle, has shown that ability. Elijah Griffin is the one player who has demonstrated some inside pass rush ability, so a lot will depend on him or on another young player developing. The offense will be productive, and the running game can be really good with the quality of RBs on the roster. I don't know how explosive they'll be, but I don't believe KS will change his MO, which means he'll play it conservatively on offense and depend on the defense to get stops when they need stops. That means a better pass rush than they've had over the last three years. The Dawgs have ranked near the bottom of the SEC and the FBS schools for two of the last three years, and in the middle in 2024. Those numbers aren't good enough to win a championship for a team that relies on its defense to make key plays, especially against good QBs.

As Pollack said years ago, Georgia has a lot of very good players, but not a lot of great. That's been the case since 2023 honestly. But we have a lot of very good players, and if Gunner improves, guys step up and become playmakers, and injuries are kept to a minimum, then there's no reason we can't make a deeper run in the playoffs.
And another thing…we have a lot of experience on this team as compared to the last couple of seasons. We retained some key players and added some youth. Experience wins Championships. That's been proven time and again. I think our experience will reign as a key factor in how far we can go this season.

Biggest worries in order: WR, OL, QB.
Stockton has a limited skill set. He will not be a factor in the NFL and will not lead UGA to a championship in 2026.

Couldn't agree more— the team's success starts and stops with the effectiveness of the OL. Even more than the DL, not just because they enable the explosives/scores, but because the OL keeps the DL fresh. Go Dawgs!
