Lane Kiffin found Trinidad Chambliss for Ole Miss. We need to start looking for next years qb. Not sure any of the guys on the roster are talented enough or experienced enough. I do like Beaver though but he's 5th team qb.
@BigDawg888…Agree. I'd be super surprised if Kirby didn't hit the portal for a good, experienced QB. That's the way you win in the playoffs these days.
Face it guys, Georgia may have plenty of denaros, but they also have a LOT more competition for the best players. It's a dog-eat-dog world of recruiting and transfers. We'll see how well Kirby's model is working after we get through another few seasons.
why do people think we don’t have money? We are one of the biggest spenders out there. If Kirby sees a need for a transfer QB you can believe they will get the best. Already hearing the kid from Cal is a strong possibility.
@Kasey…the reason is that we don't have any high profile donors like Oregon and Texas Tech and a few other teams do. I also have read we don't spend quite as much as some programs. We're certainly not one of the very top spenders.
just because we don’t have a name donor doesn’t mean we have big money come in. We wouldn’t be successful in multiple sports if we didn’t.
We don’t overspend on high school recruiting like the schools you mentioned. Most of the $ goes toward retention and portal guys. Tech spent $3M per year for Guyton. That’s absurd for a freshman who’s done nothing.
Not sure where you’re reading we don’t spend as much but we are spending. Spell and Dollar in this class show that.
@Kasey…You can go to almost any site or use AI to summarize the top spending programs. I promise you none of them is Georgia. We spend a lot on football but not near as much as several programs. Whether or not that decision is random, due to a tight budget restrictions, or just Kirby's decision, I do not know.
I have read that Georgia roster value is around $35.5M. Notice that Indiana is not on this list, and they had no problem destroying their competitors last season and winning the Natty. So, coaching matters a LOT. Money doesn't always turn a good program great enough to win a NC.
I agree. UGA should be fine this season and will go as far as the QB takes the team. But the downturn in recruiting will have an impact in future seasons.
Everyone including CKS alluded to the loses of Bobo and Harris as sinking the UGA season. In season's past UGA had quality depth to weather losing a 2nd team SEC OC and a good player at DE.
It is too bad that UGA can't pay for elite players out of high school AND pay to retain them after UGA develops them. Apparently not enough money for that. OSU, TX, OR, AL and others seem to be able to fund that.
i wouldn’t trust AI to give accurate info on this as they are just scraping the internet filled with a bunch of people guessing how much guys are making. I wouldn’t call it reliable information considering there’s no public info behind any of that.
And of all those teams you mentioned, none of them won much of anything outside of Ohio. And I still contend they won because they paid to bring all their older and experienced talent back along with some big ticket players like Downs and Judkins. Indiana won because they were well coached older players with a Heisman QB.

money isn’t the issue, more money is. Elite jimmies and joes cost more money, get used to 10th ranked recruiting classes from now on.
Sorry money is a problem! How can you say the bulk was spent retaining players then that means less to acquire new players! Please stop with the cope! Georgia does not spend what the tops do, I would even say Georgia is probably 5-6 th just in the SEC alone! If money was not a problem we would not have had the 6th ranked class last year nor would they currently be ranked 12th!

Just because a team is paying more NIL money doesn’t mean they’re getting better results; they might just have more gaps to fill at certain positions, or they could be overpaying. Personally, I’d take less NIL and be developed by Kirby’s staff if I were a player, since his players have a track record of making it to the NFL.
