I logged on to check for typically illuminating posts and this strange format change seems to have happened. I'm typing mostly to see if I can still access posts and post for myself.
Where can we go to talk Dawgs football?
No one has more disdain for this new format than I. However, they are giving us progress and tools for free, along with ONE choice, and we can continue here or not. Personally, I'm trynna get used to the new normal. Hope it works out for everyone.
I originally had flashbacks of some really bad Windows updates (anyone remember Vista?). If they can get rid of a few more bugs and make a few tweaks, I'll be much happier with it.
lost in the ozone again
One thing folks can do that seems to help a little. You can select Newest and it will move the new posts to the top. It will also show which posts are new since your last visit. I wish you could do that globally, rather than thread by thread, but I haven't found a way to do that yet. I would also increase the size of the new post number. It is tiny.
Quoted or reply posts should be a new post not put in the post that is quoted or replied to. Makes it hard to find
In other words all posts should be under newest for that thread
While trying to navigate the new build, the first thing I did was go to the filter and set it to sort by most recently created threads.
The default appears to sort by the most recently commented-upon threads, but that, to me, loses a little bit of the "flow" I think most folks are looking for.
Plus. I have to go to "Categories" each time to return to the specific forum I was reading and refresh the page to not show previously read post. Somewhat frustrating…..
yes, this is the biggest problem that i see….
in replying to older posts, the reply is shown right after that post not then the responder made the reply.
as @how2fish said, and I said earlier, you basically have to read through the whole thread to see all the responses..
this particular reply will be lost as soon as this thread hits the next page!!
Right here, hopefully!!
I just found the "quote" button which is the "quotation marks " button right up under the avatar of the person you are quoting.
That makes the reply process just like it was before !!
Best thing is not to "reply" using the button to the bottom left of the post you are replying to, but to hit "quote" button and that will show the post your are replying to plus your response…..all in the time frame for which you posted your "reply"!!!
Not way back in the thread!!!
That was my biggest hangup! not to mention the upvotes that were lost when you went back to the home page….i found that hitting refresh after each page helps that issue.

I used the reply button at the end of this/your post. Where is the quote button? I don't see one anywhere. Wait, I found the " marks. I'll try it next time, although reply button seems to work well for me.
Thanks for the info……biggest issue other than it doesn’t like my browser
I am keeping mine set on discussion right now
Testing
I'm pretty sure if you hit the reply button, it will directly to the reply from you. No "quote" option….🤔
Heck….. i just hit the two quotation marks under your avatar, instead of the reply button and here i am!!!
This is a hot mess. Definitely not an upgrade. I'm on several other free forums and this is a disaster. Not intuitive at all. Looks like the AJC decided to move this forum to the lowest bandwidth, cheapest possible format they could get.
Hopefully this is the way to respond.
Thanks for the great tip (assuming I understood what you said and implemented it properly).
Go, Dawgs!
I would be so very happy if they (whoever is in charge of all of these changes?) would just put it back to what is was since I first joined the forum here back in 2017!!!! ← THAT IS A FULL NINE YEARS, AND our DawgNation forum wasn't broken!!! Why "fix" what is NOT broken???? Ugh!!! GO DAWGS!!!
I, too, wonder what prompted the change. Since it is a free site, I guess it's above my paygrade. I'm tempted to say "follow the $" but what do I know?
I have tried 3 times to post on the Braves thread, and each time I hit the post comment button, the post disappears and does not get posted. ?????
EDIT: I went to the Braves thread and hit the "start with the most recent post" and all 3 of my attempts were there.
They did not appear when the thread started with the oldest post. I'm confused and sorry for the repeat posts.
Jeff addressed the host site for the board updates and this is what we got
I have taken to doing this.
