Totally agree with Kirby. If those Big 10 schools had to run the gauntlet that SEC teams do they’d not win as many Nattys. If you look at all of Kirby’s work since being at UGA as HC he IS the current GOAT.
In order to dethrone him Indy will need to win another Natty by next year in my view if they don’t this year. Ohio St. would need to win it this year. Same for Oregon.
KS winning B2B Nattys is not ancient history. They are still very fresh. And though Yes the last two playoffs have been a disappointment. The Dawgs winning records are very, very good !! These things said the Dawgs need to win the Natty This year or at a minimum go very deep into the playoffs defeating some really good teams along the way.
I honestly believe the Dawgs have every bit as much potential to win the Ntl. Title This year as any other team. Go Dawgs !!
WARNING !! Some what off topic but not much !! I sure Hope the SEC will win its lawsuit vs LSU and Mr. Arrogant ( Kiffin). CFB has already been rendered devastating blows to the historical theme and spirit of the CFB level of play.
Allowing NFL rejects to come back and play would make things much worse. I almost spewed my coffee listening to Wright’s agent talking about him coming back to get his education !! Please give me a break !! He’s coming back for big NIL !! No mystery to it.

So, how does the SEC figure out a way to take back the NC conversation? Why does the CFP Committee STILL give more weight to wins and losses instead of SOS?
If we move to the CFP to 16 or even 24 teams, the SECCG will probably be going away as long as the new media rights deal can replace that $100M that the SECCG brings to the coffers.
Will the B1G finally be forced to add another P4 non-conference game to their schedule like the SEC must do now? I certainly hope that is a requirement on any deal to expand the playoffs going forward.
I'll honestly never understand why anyone pays attention to Smith's sports opinions. He's just on ESPN to be loud and generate controversy. He's not an expert on sports. He played very briefly at a very low collegiate level in basketball. He never coached. He got a name for himself by being one of those bombastic sports talk radio guys who took that same energy to television. Smith is one of those replaceable sports media entities that fill have filled up the airwaves for decades, people who are there for their personality rather than anything of value they offer with the content of what they say. Please don't think this attitude is directed just at Smith; this style is the norm today, including people like Paul Feinbaum, Skip Bayless, Colin Cowherd, etc.
More! Waaay more potential. It's gonna be about luck, now....imo. Every Champion needs a timely fortuitous bounce or call to go their way....sooner or later. And, the Dawgs are overdue for a few of those.

Sure, the south produces more talent, but Northern schools regularly buy southern kids now. Kirby is talking about the last decade, but the future may be quite different. As far as the SEC, we beat each other to death, so by playoff time, too many are hurt to win. Especially since we can't keep 5 stars on the bench waiting their turn. Game has changed.
As an add to my previous post, the entire starting line at Michigan are southern kids. NOT ONE is from Michigan.
Steve A Smith is an overpaid announcer on the scale of Pat McAfee and knows nothing about college football so his opinion is not worth Kirby's time.
Well, Smart needs to back up his words with some action by winning games in the CFP.
I hate the little10 as much as anyone, but when we said SEC was the best, we won 7(?) in a row, and I don’t remember any argument on NFL drafts or schedule. Shouldn’t we use the same standard, give them their flowers amd work on ourselves?

UGA should been in the playoffs for the 2023 season. They should never have fallen to no. 6 in the polls after a 3 pt. loss to Bama in the SECCG. We would have won our third in a row.
