Georgia won its opening game 63-3, but the Bulldogs are the only team among the top 8 not to garner a No. 1 vote.

Then why do you think the AP voters don't give us credit for those achievements? Why are they quick to dismiss us when we don't win the SECCG?
Lolol....why do you think?. It's been that way since before I was born (60+) ....going back to the '40's and the Charlie Trippi snub. It just IS.
Lol....imo...we don't have enough Journalists out there from SEC schools.
Well....some SEC schools. Texas and Bama are Grandfathered into the clique. So is Oklahoma and Tex A&M.
Also.…imo...a lot of the Southern Journalists that are out there...don't know or understand the game well enough, to know when to throw the "BS Flag"......yet, they vote along with the pack. Which is what most of em do anyway. Only a few call the shots.
Imo…Polls are a scam to control outcomes while still leaving us with the delusion of "Fairness". It's a crooked…but fun game...CFB.
Good Polling....equals more money from boosters and PR for Recruits. It's not a zero sum game.
I think you’re giving the polls way too much credit.
Polls can influence perception, recruiting, booster enthusiasm and TV hype. Absolutely. But that’s a long way from saying they “control outcomes.”
If rankings really controlled outcomes, Florida State never gets left out undefeated, preseason darlings never fall out of the Top 25, and unranked teams never wreck somebody’s season on a Saturday afternoon.
Polls are imperfect. They’re subjective. They create narratives. And yes, those narratives can be worth money.
But a conspiracy requires somebody actually controlling the result.
Otherwise it’s not a conspiracy.
It’s just college football arguing about who’s better before they play—which, come to think of it, may be the sport’s oldest tradition.
Just keep Choppin and keep Winning. In the end Dawgs will have to Take their Glory !! Go Dawgs !!
I actually do think there’s a regional bias in college football polling.
Midwestern writers are more familiar with Midwestern programs, more immersed in Big Ten storylines, and probably more inclined—consciously or not—to give those teams the benefit of the doubt.
Same thing can happen with Southern writers and SEC teams.
Where I part company with you is the leap from bias to conspiracy.
You don’t need a secret committee controlling the polls to get distorted results. All you need is regional bias, brand-name inertia, groupthink and voters who tend to follow the prevailing narrative.
That’s a much more believable problem—and probably a much bigger one.
Yeah....I don't really think it's a coordinated conspiracy. It just looks that way.
If it ever comes down to the choice between a BIG10 Team & an SEC Team……and it has.….Big10 gets the nod. They have had an advantage in seeking National Titles for decades....because of that bias. Whether it's inadvertent or intention.
Lol....I just don't like Polls...cause they're rarely accurate. Just a guess based on other people's perceptions or hype.
many UGA players stay for the money
Name 5.
We need more Grizzards. Lewis was a great champion of Georgia football. He was irreplaceable.
Elyiss Williams
CJ Wiley
Talyn Taylor
Jaden Reddell
Ethan Barbour
KJ Bolden
Ellis Robinson
you can throw in all the transfers in this year too if you’d like.
You think those guys are @ UGA for the money?. I don't. They could've gone anywhere for money, these days. Probably...MORE Money.…actually.
They came to UGA, cause Kirby accepted them as students. Ballplayers know where the best coaching and standards exist.
Personal fit, Fan engagement, former player business network, first class facilities & education, NFL projection, big games, national exposure...etc.....I could go on...but, these things all play into it. It aint just about money....imo.
Money drives a lot of Programs out there. Even UGA to some extent. But, when it comes to the players Kirby allows in his locker room.... I don't think there's a more selective Coach out there. If you can !And it through the Kirby Player Filter....THEN....you get to talk money. Lol
you really have no idea what you’re talking about but that’s ok.
Or....maybe you don't...and you're just pumping me for information. Lol...which I'm glad to provide. I'm pretty generous when it comes to passing on, the truth.
Btw...I didn't say "money" wasn't a consideration. I said it's not the "only consideration" where the Dawgs are concerned. It's more complex than that.
