- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

The Braves won again but the Nationals scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 9th to beat The Mets 11-10. The odds must have been huge against that happening. Maybe once a season. Give them credit, they are playing tough as nails. We go into a 4 game series against DC tomorrow night up 6.5 games, 5 in the loss column. As of… -

Really it's been the past 2 games where it's been a struggle. Hitting is always more unstable than good pitching though. Here's an interesting way to look at what it will take to hold off Washington for the division title. If we play just 4 games over .500 the rest of the way (17-13) DC will have to play 16 games over .500… -

Also just to triple post, there are some guys that consistently out perform or underperform their FIP numbers for whatever reason. For example Julio Teheran always performs better than his peripherals would suggest for whatever reason. Literally if you guys know why please tell the Braves so they can figure it out haha.… -

Soroka is just our best pitcher, so I’d like him getting the ball twice. It’s just that simple for me honestly. I know his home road splits are pretty severe. Maybe that’s statistical noise and maybe it isn’t. But regardless he is our best pitcher and you want him to throw more than any other pitcher. Especially since… -

Bravos win again, 5-4 this time. They came back late yet again on 2 HRs in the 8th. Riley had a perfect swing on the 2nd HR for a mid-deck bomb. That guy has about as good a HR cut as you'll see. Luke Jackson did his usual Mark Wohlers act, win or lose he takes a week off my life every time I watch him. He came through… -

Soroka's stuff isn't really mediocre. His sinker is usually a plus pitch, and the slider is pretty good. He can actually run it up to 96-97 on his 4-seam fastball but that pitch isn't really good without good placement of it because the movement on it isn't great. The change is his best swing and miss pitch, but he… -

Now, here I go being aggravating again slightly… That was the best that Soroka’s stuff had looked since his 8 inning Miami start, BUT there were some hints of sometimes, it’s better to be lucky in some cases, than good. Hosmer just missed a 2-run homer and Acuna robbed at least a double by Machado if not a homer. Literally… -
Re: Braves Ongoing Season Comments Thread..
The Dodgers have the #4 payroll, but they lost to the #7 payroll (not a huge difference here)... Almost all champions come from a top 5-10 payroll. A few exceptions come from 10-15th payroll. But can hardly find any outside the top half. Kansas City was considered a cheap team a handful of years ago, that's the lowest… -

Kirb is going to love this. Mets closer Edwin Diaz has a 4.95 ERA and I want to trade for him. What's more he's pitched great this season. He has given up 16 earned runs over 4 appearances and just 3 total innings. The other 36 innings over 41 appearances he has given up just 6 earned runs for a 1.50 ERA. He has been… -
Re: Braves Ongoing Season Comments Thread..
The Mets currently have the 24th ranked defense as measured by ESPN. Over Syndergaard's 4 plus seasons with The Mets they've been 24th, 15th, 14th, 13th and 12th. So basically it's average. Where it gets interesting is rating defense behind a specific pitcher. Greg Maddux aided his defense in 2 important ways. 1. he had…
