It's 27 outs in increments of 3 to get around 4 squared bases more times than your opponent. 1st player, don't make an out, get on base. 2nd player, see 1st player. If you think of baseball as a 3 dimensional board game it's not complicated at all in it's formula. The various skills needed to accomplish the specifics at… -

I think the Braves are planning to call up Folty to start Wednesday against KC. To me, the dream scenario would be for him to regain his form from last year and to be our #3 starter for the playoffs. Since Gausman only uses two pitches, he should be even more effective out of the bullpen. With Julio as our #4 starter, if… -

Now that I got my rant out of the way, my main problem with Snit's approach to this series was the pitching rotation. We had a good discussion on this prior to the series, and I took the position that I would like to see Soroka in Gm1 since he was our best pitcher. This would've also ensured that he got a second start. As… -

Here’s a bit of a spicy-ish take probably: Today’s start by Soroka was probably about as good as his next to last start before the break against the Mets. I had a feeling 3 batters in that Soroka had his better stuff because of how his sinker was moving, but his sinker was really moving against the Mets and he had a pretty… -

Interesting read Still dont want him. From the article: The trade package necessary to land Syndergaard should be significantly richer than the one the Mets gave up for Stroman, given Syndergaard’s relative track record, age, and the extra season of team control through 2021. I just dont think he is worth what they are… -

Greene hasn't been a very good pitcher before this year other than 2017 when his ERA was 2.66. He had a 5.12 ERA in 2018. His career numbers are 4.54 ERA 1.345 whip and 2.58 so/w ratio. My hope was we'd land Felipe Vasquez from The Pirates. He's much younger and under control for another 4 years. His career numbers are… -

CTDawg. I think the reason is Acuna simply doesn't look like a logical choice for leadoff. There's also the idea that RA is a budding superstar hitter. Not many all around great hitters bat leadoff, Mookie Betts being a big exception. You usually put your best hitters at 3 and 4. We really don't have an ideal high OBP/great… -
Re: Braves Ongoing Season Comments Thread..
The good thing about the quantity over quality approach is we now have 4 guys that are good right handed bullpen arms (including Jackson). I really wish we wouldn’t have a “closer” and just do things by committee though. Maybe there is something to the mentality of closing games, but I feel like any high leverage reliever… -
Re: Braves Ongoing Season Comments Thread..
Yeah I am incredibly disappointed, like very very upset with this team and franchise. It’s amazing to me we had to roll out the corner outfielders we did and had our bullpen be this bad. You have to be better built for the playoffs to win in the playoffs. Also a lot of Small but poor decisions in my opinion from the…
