Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Re: Braves Ongoing Season Comments Thread..
Would they take someone like Kyle Wright as a “SP who can play right away” and a younger lesser prospect like Justin Dean or Trey Harris? Or are they looking for that package plus another guy who can play right away? Edit: just saw he is under contract through 2021. I would probably go something like Wright and Contreras… -

We have a superb matchup today at Minn. The Twins have the most HRs in MLB. Mike Soroka is starting for us, he has the lowest HRs allowed rate in MLB at just 0.5 per 9 innings. Mike is 6-0 with a 1.20 ERA on the road. The Twins are starting Jake Odorizzi, he's 6-1 at home but his home ERA is 3.73. Minn has 4 right handed… -

Maddux not as great in the playoffs though. I’d take Smoltz first Smoltz had the swing and miss stuff that works well in the postseason. But as WCDawg mentioned its not like Maddux and Glavine were terrible. Smoltz was a bulldog who could elevate his game. I still can't grasp how the team won just a single World Series… -

I think we had managed ourselves (and also unfortunate injury'd ourselves) into Wright being the only option that wasn't a bullpen game with Newcomb being an opener in this series. Folty was available for today, but they probably wanted him to have a couple good outings in a row (perhaps he comes up anyway vs KC because… -
Re: Braves Ongoing Season Comments Thread..
GeorgiaGirl I have absolutely zero doubt that Soroka's success was due to amazing movement on every pitch he threw and command of all of them. To point, he didn't give up his 1st HR till around his 9th start. That is because nobody could make square contact on the ball. Since then he's given up 4 HRs, not bad, but not… -
Re: Braves Ongoing Season Comments Thread..
I think you're both right tonight. Soroka rolled well and got bad ball in play luck and sequencing luck in the 4th. Was in control the majority of the game but 4 singles in a row, 3 of which were bloopy and one was a bad play by camargo, hurt him. Thats just unlucky and is that whole not all hits are created equally.… -
Re: Braves Ongoing Season Comments Thread..
GG. The difference in Soroka's results over the past 4 games and his 1st 11 games has nothing to do with adjustments by opponents in my opinion. When he's getting the movement on all of his pitches and he has command of them like he had over his record setting start of giving up 1 or fewer runs in 9 of his first 11 starts,… -
Re: Braves Ongoing Season Comments Thread..
Everything that had to do with us probably succumbing in 6 to Washington if we beat St Louis had much more to do with Freddie and other veterans not being right, and injuries (which is related to what I'm saying) and nothing to do with pitching. Freddie had said in an interview that with a slugging instead of struggling… -
Re: Braves Ongoing Season Comments Thread..
Because I’m bored, I decided to go back and look at the zone maps for Soroka’s last start. What I said in other channels (and maybe once on here) and what Ivan the Great said on talking chop became blatantly obvious when I looked in retrospective, the Phillies sat on the sinker at the knees and simply hit it where it’s…
