Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

I pointed out Wednesday that Swarzak hadn't given up an earned run till Tuesday over his last 17 appearances and had allowed just 1 inherited runner to score. After tonight Newcomb has only given up an earned run in 1 of his last 18 appearances and 3 times over his past 27 appearances. Over those 27 games he has pitched 35… -

The Athletic says Anthopoulos is beating the bushes trying to trade for a closer or other bullpen help. They suggested Felipe Vazquez was the most logical option. Sounds great to me. "Vázquez, 27, is in his prime and controllable through 2023 with the last two years of his deal being team options. He’s under a… -

True, and I'm not sure about Soriano. Canseco and Mark McGuire are the only players I have real inside info on. Both were juicing when they played for The Birmingham Barons in the minors. I became friends with a guy who owned a renowned gym where future Mr Universe Lee Haney got his start. When Canseco and McGuire came to… -

After tonight's loss we're 6-6 since the All Star break and 2-6 over our last 8 games. Over that 8 game stretch we've been outscored 47 to 27 and Washington has cut our division lead to 4.5. We rode some good fortune in winning most of the close games, if our luck/clutch play doesn't go our way Washington has a very good… -

Really great subs/utility players/pinch hitters have always been a big need. I recall Charlie Spikes back in the 1980s was a bit of a cult hero for Braves fans. I think the increased innings the pen works does make a versatile utility player more valuable though. You can't carry as many bench players when you need 2 or 3… -

It's 27 outs in increments of 3 to get around 4 squared bases more times than your opponent. 1st player, don't make an out, get on base. 2nd player, see 1st player. If you think of baseball as a 3 dimensional board game it's not complicated at all in it's formula. The various skills needed to accomplish the specifics at…
