Who has a song that you like because of the humor in the song lyrics? Lately Ive been having Alexa tee up Luke Combs “When it rains, it pours”. The “helluva redneck roll” he went on when she left cheers me up every time I hear it. Wish I had a playlist of similar songs.

Weird Al Yankovic non-parody stuff
I'm Goin Straight To Hell by Driven N Cryin.
Not only is it uniquely humorous, it is oddly beautiful.
Seeing pretty women singing along to the lyrics in concert was weird and creepy though.
I saw them a couple years ago at Chastain for a benefit concert by Ed Roland of Collective Soul. They opened. It had been years since I had seen them play. Kevin Kinney was in scary bad physical condition. I kept thinking he looked like Fat Basturd from Austin Powers.
LMAO @Kasey that dude is filthy
Bank. It makes me wonder if there was a bit of autobiography in Kinney's lyrics.
For me, I love Lit's "My Own Worst Enemy".
They were the anthem of my high school years.
Since I fancy myself a bit of a Weird Al amateur scholar (amateur bc I have no actual schooling for it, scholar bc I'm a little too nerdy-qualified) I'm gonna give you fine folks some funny songs to go on. If I can make one convert I'll feel accomplished...
"Frank's 2000" TV"--REM sounding tune
"I Remember Larry"--Elvis Costello sounding tune
"One More Minute"--60's style breakup ballad
"Good Ol' Days"--James Taylor spoof
"Mr. Popeil"--B-52's sounding tune making fun of Ron Popeil
"Trigger Happy"--Beach Boys/surf rock tune
"Good Enough for Now"--country song
If you get thru all those and want more, let me know
Humorous for me would be Stephen Lynch, be forewarned, he pulls no punches.
Cory430. Drivin N Cryin's Honeysuckle Blue is a first rate southern rock ballad.
Also I submit to you the last verse of David Allen Coe's You Never Even Called Me By My Name.
''I was drunk the night that Mom got out of prison.
So I went to pick her up in the rain.
But before I could get to the station in my pickup truck.
She got runned over by a dammed old train.''
Always get a kick out of Tim Wilson. RIP
Ray Stevens
I was wondering if anyone would remember him. “Blue Cyclone” was one of my favorites as a kid.
still love "sittin' up with the dead"
"might as well sit down here with me boy because you ain't gettin outta here tonight!"
"but I did"
the perfect country and western song
Tim Wilson: 100 things
Ray Stevens: my favorite is “Mississippi squirrel revival” but I love everything he has
i feel like you can not say you grew up in Georgia if you didn’t have a Ray Stevens VHS
