Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Agree. I was there a couple of years ago. Great area to walk around.
Page 4 is messed up, so I'm posting to see if it gets straightened out. It shows tworows of the page numbers. Did that once before - different thread.
As to locations, I have no current info, but I can attest that Victoria,BC was pretty nice several years ago.
Page 4 is fixed. Ta-dahh!
I think someone posted and then someone (Mod?) deleted it.
Wrong!
My favorite international travel was Switzerland and Costa Rica!! I second what someone else was saying about Lucerne. That's where I stayed also. Beautiful, beautiful place!!
The Netherlands as mentioned is a super chill place. Lots of history, art, culture and the over the top party crowd (easily avoided if that's not on the radar. I usually stay in Haarlem). The Dutch speak better English than most of my friends are are generally very nice and helpful.
Currently, I am hooked on Havana, Cuba. I have made 5 trips over the past 2 years. It's difficult explain why I love it there. It is dirty, extremely poor, dilapidated and resources are scarce. But... the people are the absolute best. So welcoming and engaging. The music, the food, the rum, the cigars... I've been fortunate enough to make some great friends there that I chat with weekly. It is not a luxury destination by any stretch, but you will leave with a new found appreciation for being fortunate to be living in the greatest country on earth. It's one of the only places I am sad to leave, and immediately start planning my return.
Don't let the media fool you. Cuba is one of the safest places on Earth (surprisingly). It's very easy to travel there (non-stop from Atl). You buy your visa at the gate before boarding. And, most importantly, Cubans love Americans. They just don't care for American politics. I always tell my Cuban friends 'neither do Americans'.
I can't say if your wife would appreciate it (mine does not share my excitement), but it's a great guys trip.
The folks at M.E.T. Belize are awesome and run a cool place. Horseback riding to all kinds of beautiful spots and the cabanas and food is great there. They are 3rd generation Texan Belizians. It's just outside of San Ignacio. Check them out if you get the chance.
The Isle of Skye is one of my all time favorite places!
I was the one who posted about Lucerne and you're right it is a beautiful place. Taking the tram up Mt. Pilatus was spectacular. I've also traveled extensively in Costa Rica, which is also quite beautiful. From San Jose there's two ways to travel to the Pacific Coast, one being a straight western shot. I preferred going through the central mountain range. The diversity of ecosystems was extraordinary!
Just scheduled a cruise to the Bahamas. It will be my and my daughter's first cruise. It hits Coco Cay and Nassau. I've been to Atlantis before, but this seems like a decent first cruise for us. I really want to do a Mediterranean 2 week cruise.
We are currently visiting the Seychelles on a special second honeymoon trip. It’s a long way from the USA, but living in Turkey not so much. It’s an Indian Ocean paradise and so very beautiful.
One of my rugby buddies sailed across the Atlantic in Nov. He left from the Seychelles. This pictures and video I saw looked really nice. Enjoy!
Enjoyed a fishing trip to the Seychelles in May'19. The out-islands, Alphonse and Astove are remote, (to say the least) rugged, and equally as beautiful as Mahe.
Actually plotting out a trip that way in recent days, but was debating whether to focus on Seychelles or Maldives...Any insight re: differences between the two?
If you're talking about a fishing trip, I can't recommend the Seychelles and the Alphonse Fishing Company highly enough. I have no first hand knowledge of the Maldives.I've read good things, though. For just a vacation on Mahe, Seychelles, I didn't spend enough time on the Island to really embrace what there is to offer there.
