Definitely would love to see pictures of anything you made. Looking to add a zip line to backyard for my 3 girls and need some ideas.
Here’s just a few of the most recent catches. I also love to get a hook in a striper too. Wasn’t really expecting it at the time but the last one weighed just over 19lbs and darn near pulled me in when it decided to turn and go away from the boat.

That’s exactly what she was caught on. That, a 7’6” MH rod, 65lb braid, with zero drag and just hoping she wasn’t gonna break my rod. That’s why she almost pulled me in. My feet weren’t positioned just right when she took off because I didn’t realize she was that big. By the way, I also fish tournaments on the Savannah River system.

Oh, the Power G is on most of the time! It just so happens I didn’t have it on in these pics. Very odd for sure.

At sleeping long hours, over eating vast quantities of food, or simply being one of the laziest people lounging around??? I’m probably championship caliber quality at these easy things that most anyone can do!!!
Back in 1982 I was on one of the most famous submarine patrols of the Cold War. I was on a nuclear fast attack and we trailed a Russian missile sub for 39 days, 3 weeks of it under the polar ice cap. We were underwater for 85 days straight. Our Captain was on the BBC Documentary “The Silent War” talking about the patrol. It’s the first time NATO realized the Soviets had missile subs hovering under the ice pack ready to launch if a war broke out.
I also went to HS and played baseball with Georgia great Rex Robinson - Marietta HS class of 77.

Will send one today. Zip line is a huge hit with kids and their friends. Only cost me about $100 of supplies. You can buy a whole Kit on Amazon easily for a basic 80 foot line which is all most folks need.
Im doing a slack line now. Line between to trees they can walk on with a second line chest high to balance . Did one of those before and they loved it.
Great catches. I love to fish in the Altamaha here local. No stripers but huge large mouth. In fact the world record was caught about 20 minutes from here but that little dead river channel is dry now. Still lots of big ones if you haven’t fished this river.
One thing I cannot brag about is parenting skills, we had three birth kids. I figured my life is all about parenting so Why stop at three? So we took on four foster kids with the intent of adopting. Was much tougher than We expected.
Can brag, not on me, but what God can do, just as we were having little ones, I had opportunity to do jail ministry One night a week for a couple hours after work.
I completed the training at the jail on the edge of town. But part of me was wondering how I could do this to my wife, be away and make longer days. At the end of training, before we started ministry, we had to shadow current volunteer chaplains,
This Included the downtown jail, supposedly tougher, but I did not know where it was.. Turned out it was across the street from where I worked! Well disguised high-rise, Eliminating any commute, the time commitment wasn’t that bad. very very rewarding, inmates very good at showing appreciation. Many Cool stories.
Speaking of Nicaragua, got a chance to go to El Salvador for three weeks for work. Circa 1990, the war was going on.

I was living near Washington DC, methinks the world’ second largest Salvadoran population. When a young lady acquaintance found out where I was going she gave me a care package to give to her Salvadorian auntie.
She gave me an address. No GPSthen. Picture an amazingly busy city of 1 million people. Traffic will look like complete chaos to us, people hanging on the outside of the buses, also martial curfew. Limited Spanish.
Our interpreter, a coworker, tells me there is no way she is going to help. She wants to survive and return home to her fiancé.
after a couple days of getting to know our Salvadori counterparts, I showed them the note with the address. The deputy in charge said Come home with me at lunch. We walked a block to his home..He pointed across the cul-de-sac and said that is the address you’re looking for! Another across the street moment like the jail back home.
although that family spoke no English, they hosted me and wined and dined me for several evenings afterward.
My son is really into spear fishing. In fact he just finished making his first gun. It turned out really well and he now has orders for three more.

A former college teammate of mine runs a full-time sports ministry organization. Have had the chance to see quite a bit of the world playing and coaching in places where you can't just walk in and talk to people about what you want to talk about...
One of the cool things we did was visit prisons and play basketball against the inmates...
12 minute quarters, officiated by other inmates. Some state pens (dumps), some federal pens (Hiltons).
Gyms are packed. Everyone in the place shows up, and has some type of wager on the game (ice creams, maybe?).
Unbelievably physical games - in a prison full of 750-1000 guys who workout 7 days a week, turns out you can find 10-12 guys who can play (and have 3% body fat). But "cleaner" contact than any game at the YMCA you would ever play. Code of conduct and respect was in full effect. Trash talk - with respect - at its highest. INTENSE.
I played in front of a sell-out crowd against top 5 competition with the first pick in the draft on the other side of the jump-ball, and that paled in comparison to the atmosphere inside a max-security prison. Some of my fondest memories of competition in my life.
The gratitude shown afterward by these "hardened" men can not be described in words. These guys were you and I, who got unlucky and got caught. They think we all have just forgotten about them. Wonderful men, many who love the Lord, who just appreciate those who haven't forgotten them.
If you ever get a chance - and feel called to bless the lost and forgotten - get involved in prison ministry. You will find that you will be blessed as well.
