Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

The CoronaBoomer generation
Doesn't really help those of us married 30 years or more. We rely on late night sports on TV to make up for the lack of late night sports at home.
And half of them will be named Covi
The car analogy you made should require you to change your handle to UniversityofPhoenixDawg. Get real.
Your statement that we were headed for a situation like Italy is devoid of any factual basis, Your sole intent when posting such garbage was to scare and alarm people on this board. That is not responsible behavior. Italy is experiencing a higher fatality rate due to its disproportionately large elderly population. The median age in Italy is nearly 10 years older than that of the US. The comparison is pure fear mongering. Plain and simple.
In your World, it is okay to induce panic and the purpose is purely political. I posted actual facts regarding the statistical mortality rate of a statistically significant sample of the KNOWN cases in China. Those facts go against your narrative that the United States is being poorly run, so therefor any contrary opinions are “dangerous.”
College Athletes should get paid lmao.
There's no way the tournament goes on to help the NCAA make money but these kids are risking the virus. Even if well prepared you're collecting many different kids and universities and sending them back out into the world
Just putting this out there:
You are the one with a political bias about this not me. The only group of people who have been downplaying the threat from COVID-19 are hardcore trump supporters since they think it hurts his reelection chances. There are legitimate criticisms about how the US has responded to this outbreak with several of them lying at the feet of the trump admin. We've had a really slow response time due to multiple factors which is why I drew the parallel to Italy. They also responded slowly which has lead to a boom in cases and is currently overwhelming their healthcare system. That is what I'm worried about happening here. I agreed the older populace was unique to Italy which would lead to more deaths. I've stated several times throughout this thread this isn't an apocalyptic disease, and there are several simple things people can do to mitigate transmission. I will say again the overall death rate is likely lower than the WHO crude rate but is likely at least 10 times higher than seasonal flu. However, we know the death rate for the elderly and those with compromised immune systems is incredibly high. This is what makes this disease so scary. It can be anything from asymptomatic to lethal which makes controlling the spread so difficult. I've made these points several times over, but you continue to ignore them because you can't argue against them. That's why I called you a political hack.
Carla Williams has shut down everything including spring football practice for the time being.
To @YaleDawg's point, I couldn't read the chart as is, and when I enlarged the image the pixels couldn't handle it. Nevertheless, I gave you a UV just to offset the DV!
Corona Coitus is going to be a sociology textbook at some point
I understand it. It's like someone else said above - it's mostly a liability thing.
But man won't it be weird in 5-10 years to look back and think "oh yeah there wasn't a national champion that year because of the Coronavirus"
I sincerely hope and pray that in the next few weeks, and months this virus pandemic becomes more GOOD news.... that the measures being taken on a large scale actually change, then slow down, or mostly halt the spread of Covid-19.
I’ll just leave this here...
2020 tourney champ
Wonder where some people are getting their talking points from...
I hope so too
NCAA will find a way to screw this up
I’m hopeful there will be a silver lining, in the form of corporations taking a serious look at their reliance on China, and foreign markets in general, in regards to sourcing manufactured goods.
I have a friend who owns a machine shop. He makes his own products, but also makes various parts for other “American Made” companies. He told me last week that every machine shop in the country is being contacted right now by companies experiencing supply-chain disruption.
