Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Honestly I've no idea. I can tell you that my immediate area seems fine. The nearest big city (Kaiserslautern) had about 40 cases last time I checked. That was about a week ago. I try to stay away from the news these days. The leadership I work for pushes out regular updates and I choose to follow that. One of my coworkers follows the virus news pretty close and he stated he thought the Germans did a good job. They were doing a lot of testing and then following it up with extensive tracing, testing the contacts and continuing the process from there. He also thinks the germans did a good job at containment early on. I hope that answers your question. Sorry I cant be more definitive. I try to control what I can control and not get worked up by outside noise.
we were successfully moved in Friday. each closing was essential persons only so was just the lawyer and us. the buyers/sellers were not even together and they cleaned the room between us going in and them coming out
I have only left the house twice since getting moved in and probably won't leave again until this weekend or next week (not counting taking the dogs for walks)
hope everyone is staying safe and sane
we did get a TV Sunday, which we have been without since Feb 26th so that has helped a ton with downtime in the evening
Congrats on the new house.
thanks! we are hoping this is our forever home. we are by the lake, in the top school district in the state, nice established neighborhood with large yards and not cookie cutter like many of the new construction homes are. very fortunate and happy
CT national guard was activated today to run a regional hospital out of a local university.
Albany Ga hit very hard. Saw very sad, detailed article online from NY times describing how it “went off like a bomb” in Albany Ga not NY.
Our prayers to all.
Read that too. Really sad and it started at a funeral prior to all the warnings.
I have the virus , but very mild symptoms . Just isolating .
Remdesivir is an anti-viral drug that has shown some promise in treating COVID-19. Its currently in phase 3 drug trials where 1000-2000 people are tested to show how well the experimental drug does against conventional treatments. Remdesivir is part of a class of drugs known as nucleotide analogs which block viral replication by terminating viral RNA polymerase activity. This prevents the virus from creating copies of its genome that can go on to infect other cells.
An outside of the box treatment that is also being considered is convalescent plasma transfusions. This is where someone who has successfully fought off the virus has their blood plasma taken and given to another infected person. The idea is the previously infected person will have anti-bodies that can help fight off the virus in other infected people.
We can also generate monoclonal antibodies in the lab. Genetically engineered mice that produce human antibodies can be injected with proteins found on the surface of the virus to generate an immune response. Antibodies can then be purified from the mice and potentially be used as a treatment.
Good luck in your recovery
Prayers sent your way. Please keep us updated on how you are doing.
potentially good news here...
apologies if politico is a liberal rag that spews fake news ;) /s
