I don’t know. I think he looks slow in that one, especially on body blows when he also has to drop his hands. If it goes more than 2 then I think Jones could take a decision. They could also mutually agree to a draw after 5 for being tired.
Exactly what I was thinking. Roy might actually get killed in the ring. Tyson is still the hardest hitter on the planet. If Tyson has his mental game together he is unstoppable. I can see him making a George Foreman-like comeback. I'll bet he stages a comeback. The heavyweight division is a bit of a mess right now. Would love to see Tyson fight Wilder or Fury.
Tyson wouldn’t las three rounds with either of those two
Maybe. I've watched both and am not impressed. They look kind of sloppy and awkward. Neither seem to have Tyson's killer instincts and fearlessness. If Tyson looks good against RJJ I wouldn't be surprised to see him get back in the game. Of course Tyson is 50 something years old and who knows what his stamina is like right now...but then Tyson didn't go past 3 rounds very often in his prime.
You know what else they don’t have?
Tyson’s advanced age. His prime was OVER 30 years ago. He’s 54.
Thats younger than this guy...
Yea and the strongest substance Herschel has ever been on was coca-cola.
Aloe Vera
That is true, but George Foreman was heavyweight champ at 48, and Tyson looks to be in much better shape than Foreman was at the end. Just saying I think Tyson might still be able to compete in the heavyweight division. I have been unimpressed with Wilder and Fury.
and I would question what it would take you to be impressed by those guys. Those are two of the best heavyweights in years. Wilder has just as much punching power as Tyson did in his prime. George Foreman and Mike Tyson are two totally different types of fighters when it comes to lifestyle. Foreman winning that championship was a bit of a fluke.
Let me know if you wanna put some money on a fight between Tyson and Wilder/Fury. I'd love to take some cash from you
If that happens, we will make a wager. Who knows, Tyson might come out and get whipped by RJJ. When I watch Wilder or Fury, they just don't look as smooth and polished as Tyson was and definitely not as fearless and as aggressive as he was.
And nobody has the punching power of Tyson in his prime.
Foreman recognized there weren’t any heavy hitters when he came out of retirement. As hard as Foreman’s hands were, his head was made of concrete. He didn’t have the ability to move out of anyone’s way. He would get his head beat every fight but nobody could knock him down. Tyson doesn’t have that luxury. There are a lot of guys who can knock him out and at his age he has to open up to gain power. He won’t have that fast twitch power anymore. Foreman didn’t either. His hands were terribly slow in his comeback but guys would literally punch themselves tired hitting him and then he’d catch them.
Just because we all know you can see downvotes. Wilder does not have the power or technique Tyson did. That’s why I downvoted, IF that fight happens I’ll take your money too.
To me the Tyson debate is like the Jordan debate. All the Lebron and Kobe fans used to argue hard. After the last dance, they don’t argue quite so hard anymore. I will admit Tyson had an intimidation factor that I don’t know that he has anymore or maybe yet. If Tyson never allowed Don King to get involved he would be the undisputed goat.
