We'll see how good Ohio State is this year, but Clemson would pretty easily beat Bama this year (and would slaughter us). Our inexperience at QB finally caught up to us. We laid an egg in the 2nd half and made it too easy for Bama with turnovers.

Give Bama credit they have some unreal receivers. But this game should've been much closer. Georgia had played it to essentially a draw, then the officials let a Tide receiver pull down a GA DB on a TD pass.

Then GA had them stopped in the red-zone and the officials gave Bama another gift with a PI. The GA DB played it perfectly. Didn't matter, Bama got the gift call and they placed it on the 2.

I didn't think GA's offense would be ready, yet for this one. It's just a shame the officials had to blow a good game between two great teams.

How many times did they call holding on a Bama O-line, and with all that pressure GA was getting on the QB. Almost none.

How many PI's did they call on the Bama DB's. Almost none.

Georgia will have to dominate Bama to win by 7. It just ruins the game.

Blame the refs all you want, the fact remains that Kirby has given the offensive keys to a QB who does not have the physical ability to consistently play at this level. And that mistake was evident to anyone willing to pay attention. Mathis was pulled after a few bad series. Bennett has been given 4 games.

Hate to say but not looking favorable for Smart to beat Saban before he retires. We have never been able to cover those freak receivers or get enough pressures on the QB to disrupt their explosiveness. They just reload these receivers year over year, because they made a commitment to that type passing attack. Agree with other post they were just better, they adjusted, and wore us down. Give credit where due.

More traditional teams rarely win a shootout with a high powered offense like that especially when you can’t stop them. Our offense is not designed to compete at that level. What would we put out there against them any different should we play for the SECCG?

The harsh reality is that we could not contain them with this veteran defensive group, and with what we lose after this season, why should we believe we could do so in 2021?

There are positives with new OC Monken in play calling but Kirby must shift recruiting focus more towards developing one of these high powered offenses. Defense no longer wins championships despite the stellar effort.

Same old tired story. Bama is a very good football team. No shame in losing. But it plays like a broken record. Can’t win the big one. Be it not being prepared or always having a fatal flaw, it’s always something. Maybe it’s just a testimony to how hard it is to be a champion. But I’m weary of it. Been a huge Dog fan since the late 1960’s. Attended during the Herschel years. Used to be that an SEC championship or a big bowl win was enough. A 10-2 season was satisfying. Not sure exactly why that changed. But it did. And now it’s just frustration after frustration. Maybe it’s because we have both Clemson and Bama in our own back yard. I don’t know.

I will die a Dog fan. That won’t change But I’m really questioning the emotional and time investment

Maybe if Kirby gets a few more top 3 recruiting classes.
