Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:

- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

As stated earlier, they should have signed him as he was crossing home plate last night!!!
Consumate team player!
Go Braves!
Amen and Amen!!
Go Braves! World Champs!
I immediately choked up when I saw it as well. I was at Fulton County Stadium in the early 70’s to witness Stargell hit 3 dingers for the Pirates, only to see Hank walk it off with a shot in the bottom of the 9th.
This entire season culminating with the championship last night has been without doubt the most satisfying ever personally for me as a Braves fan. There are just so maybe heartwarming stories within the overall story itself.
Go Braves and Go Dawgs!!!
I don't think Freddie's agent would have been allowed on the field. It's almost certain team bean counters and Freddie's agent along a team of lawyers will negotiate, I doubt FF will be in the room for most of it.
Well said, my friend!
Go Braves!!!
You are correct. of course.
I was just letting the fan in me live in the moment! Freddie definitely needs to be a Brave for life!
Go Braves!!!! World Champs!
I understood your point, I wasn't implying you don't understand the process. I do wish it was just FF and our GM in a room though.
It sure would get done more quickly! Freddie definitely wants to stay here. You can tell it in every thing he says or does.
Go Braves! World Champs!
His being a California guy does concern me a bit though. With 4 teams in his home state, 3 of them just a short drive from his home town, I'm guessing a couple will have interest in the top 1st baseman in the NL.
I suspect just about ALL of baseball will have an interest in him.
I'm guessing 10 or so will have interest and the finances to make viable bids. That is why I mentioned where he's from. I don't worry too much about him leaving just for money, we'll probably offer enough. A top dollar bid from a winning team within a couple of hours driving distance of his hometown, that would concern me.
Unfortunately I gave up after Game 4 of 1996 WS and was too scared to turn on the TV until the 8th inning. I did not want to re-live that 1996 nightmare when the Braves took first 2 games and was leading the Yankees 6-0 in Game 4. 6-0 in those days was like 10-0 these days. Looking at a 3-1 series lead with John Smoltz coming up, the series seemed well in hand. But the Braves would blow it and the organization was never seem to be able to recover from that for a long long time. Even though they were able to continue to win the division for a while, the organization just didn't seem to have the liveliness before that loss.
All until last night, the organization and all of our fans, I felt like we are finally able to throw that **** off of our back. I can't believe 25 years went by just like that!
Go Braves! Now it's Dawgs turn!
Interesting FYI about the Braves, and what was happening over at the BARN at the same points in history:
GO BRAVES!!!
Hopefully Auburn will sign another Nix soon.
Amen to that!
