- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Agree with you 100%.
Next season, we will ask ourselves why he couldn't have had WR numbers like those at UGA?
Just watched the 1976 UGA/ Florida game. When they guys played for the love of the game not to play at the next level. Pretty crappy situation today. It will kill the sport.
Maybe the QB who won us a natty should’ve left on top, js
Meaning, what exactly? Have you seen the portal lately? But you want to threaten a kid for no reason? That's on you, not him.
It's an opened ended comment. Nobody threatening anyone.
Get a life and stop taking yourself so seriously.
It's not like we don't have playmakers catching the ball. People are sure that for Georgia to both attract and retain the type of receiving corps that everyone is saying they need to have (to... win it all?), there will need to be a long-term shift in the team philosophy toward showcasing the passing game. Maybe that will happen, maybe not. If it does, there will be just as many people wringing their hands and demanding answers for Georgia's drop-off in runningback recruiting. Maybe not all the same people, but it will undoubtedly happen.
Remember when Daniels took the job? Remember how immediate the shift was from people complaining about the lack of production in the passing game to complaining about the lack of production in the running game? Meanwhile, the team just kept winning.
With the overall approach to the game that Smart has instilled in this program, we just watched them produce a top 10 scoring offense with a former walk-on QB and (apparently) a dearth of receivers, and win the national championship. Quite the problem in need of fixing.
So would Burton have remained a Dawg had JT remained a Dawg? Burton certainly did not follow JT to Bama! And, he knows it is possible BrockV or another could step up and win the starting role? So, why did Burton really leave?
Don't forget we had a world class defense.
I'm not mad at any man or woman who chooses to bet on themselves. Go chase your dreams thanks for all the hard work.
It is over the septic tank.. LOL
I suspect he was...encouraged to leave. UGA's WR room is loaded. Burton's production would have been nowhere near his 2021 numbers if they had a healthy WR room. He benefitted from the other receivers not being available. And, that's okay. It happens sometimes. He may not even see the field at BAMA. I hope he does, but, the competition there is at least as tough as UGA.
LOL. So did Alabama (World-Class Defense). Bennett flat out, outperformed the Heisman Trophy winner once the running game had some success. The running game started working after Salyer was moved to Right Guard and Jones went in at Left Tackle.
The running game is critical to success in the passing game. That's just how it goes. UGA will always have a running game. It's in their DNA. I bet Saban wished he had one in the CFP Championship game.
Burton, UGA 500yrds; UA 1000yrds.......makes sense if you are a WR......
Great point. It always seems when the offensive pendulum swings too far one way the team that brings it back to center has the most success (mid 90’s Nebraska, early 90’s Spurrier, and so on).
good point
You are spot-on! Consider the following:
Question: Who is an elite QB, Bryce Young or Stetson Bennett? Answer: Bryce Young
Question: Which offense consistently produces 1,000-yard WRs, Bama or UGA? Answer: Bama
Question: Which school consistently produces 1st round WRs, Bama or UGA? Answer: Bama
Question: Which offense showcases WR play, Bama or UGA? Answer: Bama
Note: Jermaine led UGA in WR receptions/yards, but Bama had five WRs with more receptions/yards than Jermaine.
With WR numbers and offensive production like those at Bama, Jermaine’s transfer to Bama is a no-brainer.
Best of luck to Jermaine, but UGA is still the National Champions!
Go Dawgs!
