Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Agreed about the scape goat thing…..Seitzer was there for 10 years…..I don't think he forgot about the techniques of hitting…..
And that's why we loved [Congrats-in the World Series] Freddy Freeman when he was a Brave still wish he was one, in the clutch. I still don't like the Dodgers. 😎
Rico Carty has passed away he got the first hit in Fulton Co. Stadium, has the Braves highest batting avg. in a season .366 & an All-Star in 1970. Was an instant Atlanta fan favorite. He was a DGB. Is in the Braves team HOF. GOD bless him and his family. 😎
Thanks for sharing this…..This totally hurts my heart
As a youngster, in that 1970 season, I would listen to the Braves every night on my transistor radio just to hear if Rico got another hit in his bid for the consecutive games hit streak that year…. always smiling that big smile and always a fan favorite…! He always was my favorite Brave back in the day! Two Christmases ago, I had shared that fact with my daughter-in-law and she honored me by presenting me with a sealed baseball card of Mr. Carty as a Christmas present that year!!! Truly brought me to tears!
Was so glad they honored him by putting him in the Braves HOF this year……The "Beeg Boy" will truly be missed as an ambassador of the game and a DGB!!!
@DawgCrazy76 .366 That's a fantastic batting average. Did he win the batting crown that year?
@MarkBoknecht Yes, he did he also hit 25HRs and 101RBIs [career best] SLG.584 [just behind Johnny Bench] tops OPB.454. 😎
Would replay have overturned this "safe" call in the WS? Note the umpire's wonderful positioning where he is blocked from seeing the plate and Jackie's foot.
Just in:
Each player on the Braves got $9548.00 for their losing effort in the Wild Card Game.
Each player on the Dodgers got $477,441.00 for their efforts in winning the World Series.
Apparently, it's good to be king!!
