true. He’s developed a tendency to call man beaters when teams are consistently dropping into cover 2 or cover 3 on us. He did a little better last game though
If we were to top offense as predicted, then yes, I would say the guy knows what he's doing. But we are almost dead last in the SEC in rushing, 7th in scoring, and 6th in total offense. Why do we have a bad first half plan almost every single game (89th in the nation in first half scoring)? Why do we consistently need second half heroics to win? I'm trying to see the silver lining, but it is really thin. I think we are going to need 35+ points to beat Texas. Our average has been 33 so far.
we are on our 3rd string center and all American guard is out too. And others on ol have been a disappointment in the um run game. Searels needs to have those guys ready. No real playmaker at wr or te. I’d say he’s doing pretty good with the cards he’s been dealt. 300 passing in first half. Position coaches need to have their guys ready.
i think the rushing stat is misleading only because we got so far behind in the Bama game that we weren’t going to run the ball.
Kentucky stopped our run pretty well.
Not sure if these stats account for non-sec games
yep 💯. He put it in our best players hands to start game at Alabama. Which was the right thing to do. We got down 28-0 so had to keep passing. Against msu the game plan was to pass and try to generate big plays and it’s exactly what we did.
169 against Clemson
166 against TennTech
102 against KY
80 against Bama
141 against Auburn
146 against MSU (worst rushing defense in the SEC)
Re rushing yards: You have to factor in swing passes, tunnel screens etc. Those are basically running plays. When the Oline has been as average as ours has been, it's an opportunity to get RBs some space to operate.
so brought down by Bama and Kentucky…checks out. It’s a long season. We will see what happens.
What I see as the biggest difference is way, way, way, way too many missed tackles, and not setting the edge (breaking contain) on the defense, as the KEY to what we are all seeing in this 2024 UGA performance drop off…..
Half way through the season and our biggest game was 169 yards rushing. That ain't RBU football.
that was our healthiest game and we didn’t have etn in that game.
ETN hasn't done much to improve the situation. Not a criticism of him, just an observation that even WITH ETN we can't run the ball.
It sure hurts with Ratledge being out indefinitely. How do they go from there, this is Searles job to have the OL ready each and every game. 😎
we haven’t been RBU football since 2019
I'd rather have the 2 natties than be RBU…not sure what that "title" gives you.
