Overall…heart A…..performance B+…feeling generous. This team never ceases to amaze me. Gunner has exceeded my expectations. Very impressive. He is getting better each game. I admit, I am a nervous wreck until the 4th quarter….then voila! Georgia power is too much for Ole Miss. Credit Kirby conditioning. Actually UGA was never that far behind this game. The offense proved formidable. Too many costly penalties or UGA score would have been higher….IMO. The defense stood tall late in the game…saved the Dawgs some probable grief. What a WIN!

One thing people don’t seem to consider about seeing open receivers is that in the stands and on the couch, we have a very different vantage point from someone on the field. We see everything all at once, they have a lot of dudes blocking their ability to see.

Not seeing Delp all alone was a sure TD (also overthrew him for a missed big chunk). Humphreys (I think) down the right sideline with lots of space. And Cash open in the flat on the 2-pt conversion. But he made up for it on so many other great plays. Best game for him so far, with upside remaining. Go Dawgs!

It could be argued that our 4th quarter defense won the game for us.

Behind by nine points, it was obvious that the offense couldn't possibly catch the Ole Miss offense and win the game. That couldn't possibly happen unless the defense could stop Ole Miss's offense at least once, but our defense hadn't stopped Ole Miss even one single solitary time. Never. Then, all the sudden, out of nowhere, Georgia had a defense!

Yes, the defense deserves the criticism, but let's give them the credit, too.

    Indeed!

I prefer blowouts when I'm watching a Georgia game, but that was one hell of a football game. Had we lost, it would be a different story, but we won!

    Go, Dawgs!

Special teams D-. Great field goal kicker who can’t consistently kick the ball out of the end zone. Branch should have fair catch and step out of bounds instead of letting it hit and rolling 14 yds, Branch gets a break, he is awesome as a receiver that they don’t use enough

Every game Kirby talks about the defense and says the same thing…we got to fix things…and again they don’t. I will say they played lights out at the end.

can’t give the kid a D when he hit those clutch long ones. Especially the one to put them up 8

I agree with you that officiating had a lot to do with the kind of offensive outputs from both teams. Not a single offensive holding call all game. How long since I'd seen that.

As a Dawgs fan, this defense is extremely difficult to watch. I’ve come to the conclusion that they are, what they are. They don’t have the ability to be disruptive upfront or pressure the QB. This exposes the young secondary and forces Shuman to blitz to get pressure which leaves them in man coverage. KS and the defensive staff have tried to mix it up and prevent team from getting explosive plays with zone coverage, but they just methodically work there way down field. As a fan, I’m tired of hearing “we’ve got to get better”, but that’s the reality. There isn’t a scheme fix for lack of a penetrating DT or a DE who can bend the edge.

We need to just play straight-up man-to-man in the secondary: 1) more ability to pressure the passer and 2) we **** in zone. Really ****. It was the move from zone to M2M in the middle of the 4th that resulted in our first stops.

That was cool. I wrote **** and it the site automagically typed ****. What if I wrote $uck?

Defense was HORRIFIC!! Schumann needs to be called on the carpet for this trash performance.

Shanks don’t go left if you’re right footed. 🤷‍♂️ I would call those bad pulls left. But I get what you’re saying. It’s inexcusable, especially for a kicker with his ability. Maybe a slightly higher grade with him being perfect on FGs with a 51 yarder included.
