Acuna starting to come around as both he and Harris are getting a lot hard hit balls much like Baldwin, they just aren't falling in for a lot of hits yet.
Riley on the other hand, when he slumps, he's horrible, and when he gets hot he's usually on a two to three week tear - very streaky hitter.
and kudos to Walt Weiss for his MMA inspired grab of former Brave Soler in the 5th inning brawl.
Will have to watch this am, hopefully Bravos have righted the ship. No extended losing streaks this year.
Wow I'm glad you posted this. That was awesome! Gained some respect for Walt after that one.
Hard to imagine Snit doing that. Nothing bad on Snit. Many/most managers would have milled around.
Watching the highlights this AM, Ronald had a very hard single in the 9th to help a 2-run rally. Hope it's an omen.
Braves close out 13 consecutive game stretch with a series win over the Angels. Grant Holmes with a gutsy quality start, Ronald and Riley both getting to the .200 mark in BA for the first time. Things seem to be going in the right direction. Much needed off day tomorrow before starting a series with Cleveland. Almost called them Indians. Must stay sharp with the PC stuff. better than 500 on the road trip is a nice +.
In first place at 8-5 sure feels a lot better than where they started last year.
As good a form tackle as you can have!
My man, Walt!
A Well-deserved day off today!
8-5 after 13 straight games to start the season, seven of which were on the left coast……and with the supposed pitching concerns coming out of spring training?
will take this every time!
That's a .615 winning %. Not too shabby since it includes road games.
The old smiling Indian Cleveland hat, best hat in baseball. Chief Wahoo
Pretty sure this is going to jinx it but Elder hasn't had a bad start in awhile. Hope he can keep it going tonight.
Well, thanks Wilk. Elder did struggle a bit. Wouldn't call it a bad start but it certainly wasn't a strong one. But, the baseball gods were smiling on the Braves offense. 3 HR in the 6th, including Ronald's first of the year. Olson had the shortest 442-foot homer I've ever seen. It had to be longer than that. I guess the day off helped the hitters. 15 hits for the game. Everyone but Yaz had at least one hit and everyone got on base at least once. The pen was off tonight. Gave up 3 runs but the offense certainly picked them up. A good start to the series against a good Guardian team.
Most promising thing to me was that Ronald and Riley continued their hot streaks. Both are in the .220 area - 40 or more points higher than they were a week ago.
Your jinx was not statistically significant.
Looked more like the 2023 Braves that just over powered everybody last night. Matt Olson will never hit one as good as he hit that one. Another 10 feet its out of the stadium altogether which I don't think has been done.
Elder wasn't bad or good but when you are hitting em like that it doesn't really matter.
