Elder another good start. I knew after Acuna got hit the second time there would be something coming back the Nats way. You cant let that go once ok fine but twice no way.
Unless they blow a three run lead in the 9th that is 5 in a row. Braves are officially hot.
Olson really playing well. Had one homer and barely missed another.
Hot, indeed. Tonight they played opportunistic ball. For some reason, Washington's ss couldn't catch a ground ball. I don't know how many errors he had, but it was reminiscent of Little League. If he wasn't booting the ball, he was throwing it away. Horrible night, but the Braves, being good guests, took advantage of the gifts to score a bunch.
Worried about Acuna. The announcers didn't seem worried, but me, being a glass half-empty guy, will lose sleep tonight. I hope they don't jinx him.
16-7! Same number of wins as the Dodgers with one more loss!
Half game away from being tied with them for the best record in all of baseball…..with a lot less salary involved!
Braves have won six in a row now…two against the Marlins, swept three against those dirty Phillies and have won the first against the Nats!
Harris on a heater, Baldwin over .300 with 5 HRs and 31 RBIs, Riley rounding into form hitting the ball hard, Olson continuing his magic raking the ball, Albies playing steady, Smith and DuPont and Mateo doing their part and even Yastrzemski having a modest 5 game hitting streak!
And leading the majors in ERA! And here comes Strider!
Gotta love this start to the season! They say you can’t win it all in April but you can sure lose it!
Marlins 5 games back of the Braves, Nats 6 games out, Those dirty Phils 7.5 back and those lousy, stinkin’ Mets are 8.5 games away!
Go Braves!
Magic number is 137!
Too soon?
appreciate the optimism!!
OOPS!! just heard Iglesias is going on the 15-day IL. Back on May 5th. He said he slept wrong on his shoulder and it was sore. Hope that is all it is. Robert Suarez moves into the closer role for the time being. Dang, I hate injuries.
Suarez has already moved into middle relief tonight ….needs to stop the bleeding 🩸
OOOPS! I may have my Suarez’ mixed up! SMH!
Guy led the NL in saves last year. Probably better than Iglesias.
That being said we don't need to lose an experienced high leverage inning guy like him for long.
Branes going down tonight. Cant win em all.
At least the Mets didnt disappoint. That is 12 in a row the longest losing streak for them in 24 years. Heads are gonna roll there soon if not tonight.
Those amazing Mets, had a 3 run lead at one point and managed to keep the losing streak intact.
Definitely a clunker for the Braves last night. Lopez lasted only one inning, giving up 4 earned runs. Just not his night. Back at it tonight. Start a new win streak. Might mean the magic # is still 137. Maybe Canton Dawg can help us out here.
I just bet that Frank the Tank is apoplectic by now!!!
He'd better watch that ticker with all this stress!
