Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

it is what it is. Everything has trade offs. Just mentioned because I know people who turned off NFL when player protection became such a focus. Now they watch MMA, rugby etc.
I've lost interest in MMA. Most matches seem the same - wrestling and grappling. Seems there used to be more diversity of technique a while back.
Yeah maybe so, never been an MMA fan myself, but I can understand the appeal.
Yeah, Dana is going to have to encourage more stand-up. Grappling gets quite boring after a while. The UFC has become quite stale.
happens when you pay the promoter more than the promoted
This was one of the worst ones I've seen:
Another Saban mulligan—no call.
I miss heavyweight and middle weight boxing, back when there were talented boxers.
There are some very talented boxers in the lighter weights, IMO.
Yeah for sure, boxing needs to make a comeback. Maybe MMA is leaving the door open for it.
I'm old enough to remember when the USA and Cuba each won 6 gold medals in the 1976 Olympics. Winning every classification except one. And some brilliant performances featuring 20-year old Sugar Ray Leonard who beat 30 something veterans from the Eastern bloc. Opponents that would be considered professionals by any other measure. Opponents who never had been knocked down during their entire careers.
Leonard was so fast. And his Opponents had never faced anything like him.
Leon and Michael Spinks. That gold medal match between Leon Spinks and his Cuban opponent was epic.
